Well the two sided coin speech is notable but I dunno, so many to choose from. Legacy of Kain has great voice acting and writing xD

I remember Kain having all the best quotes though.

Nice. I recommend starting out with Blood Omen first. It's like link to the past with a 10xbetter story. The games change completely starting with soul reaver

Soul reaver is the best in the series considering what games were made around its time and its ridiculously awesome production values.

I agree completely but if you want to experience the story (while you really don't need to know it to get SR1 but after that you'll be a tad lost for a bit) in its entirity, you need to.

The only game i found to be a bit of a cluster fuck was blood omen 2 which my brother has stolen so i doubt i'll ever be able to play it again...

Blood Omen 2 was on the verge of not even being canon. If they didn't try so hard to wrap in up in Definace, no one would care about it. It's the DMC 2 of the games.

I liked some of the mechanics even though the game is the second worst in the series.

Soul reaver 2, it had the biggestnerfing of a video game character i can think of. I mean raziel literally loses all the spells he has from the first game. The story is amazing but gameplay wise it was pretty lousy.

No way. I mean yea he does lose his powers and all that junk but the story is top notch, and the gameplay is so much more refined than SR1. MY biggest gripe was the linearity of the game but I can live with it.

I never played BO1 annoyingly

but for me

SR1>Defiance>BO2>SR2

I mean SR1 is the only game in the series with a really open world, there's also a lot of optional sidequests the rest of the series doesn't seem to have and the other games are linear and normally have a very obvious way of doing things.

The evolution of Raziel in SR1 is insane. Oh yeah and realm shifting is one of the greatest mechanics i seen in a game.

Even in my ranking of the games, SR1 went so outside the box for platforming/adventure it wasn't even funny. And yeah being able to revisit areas with new pawers to get power ups was awesome. If they make a new game it better play like Defiance and be like SR1 in just about everything else.

And man do you need to play Blood Omen. Its on the store for 6 dollars. That's chump change. The loading times to get into the menus are archaic but if you like the series you owe it to yourself. seeingall the characters for the first time is awesome. Kain's inner dialog is some of the best in games to this day. Be warned it plays like A Link to the Past though, not BO2.

Yeah i heard it did. I'll probably pick it up at some point, but as a LoK thing sounds like its likely to surface soon i'll hold off a little longer in case there's some HD stuff going on.
