So, I just watched Babylon AD... Or "That was a shitty film"

Well, now to explain some stuff. As they journey across Europe and Asia, weird shit happens involving this girl. She knows things she's never experienced, we learn she could speak 19 languaged by the time she was 2 years old, she can feel when people are dying. The usual latent psychic powers stuff. She's being brought to America by the religion she belongs to, the Neolites. It's a new religion that has sprung up at some point in the future and has become succesful. The big twist is, this girl is an arificially enhanced human, able to process information like a super computer. She's also pregnant, while being a virgin. The Neolites used experimental technology to engineer her as a miracle to promote their religion. Basically it's a massive publicity stunt.

Now then, the way her mind works is explained in the film (to an extent). A scientist was working on putting artificial intelligence into babies, so the Neloites went to him. As a foetus, Aurora was taught to think like a super computer. That's the extent to which it is explained. How she knows languages without ever hearing them or can feel people dying is anybody's guess. The mechanism by which the pregnancy is engineered is also unexplained. We are told that a doctor came to visit her in the convent 3 months ago, and that since then she's been acting weird. Once they get to America, the same doctor shows up, and that's when we find out she's pregnant with twins.

Oh, also, the unborn twin foetuses have instinctual psychic survival skills, also not explained. That scene from the trailer where the rocket explodes in front of the girls face? Yeah, it was the unborn babies that stopped it. All we get told about this is that "the twins have a survival instinct far beyond anything else. They're guiding her now". So once they get to America, the head of the Neolites wants to collect her, obviously, but the scientist who designed her wants her to live safely. He gets killed though, so no need to worry about him. Vin Diesel tries to protect the girl from the bad religious guys.

This leads to a car chase, and 3 vans full of faceless henchmen are killed. Cut to sixth months later in hospital, with Toorop and Aurora. Apparently the Neolites have given up searching (we're not told this, but it damn sure feels that way). Aurora tells Toorop he is now the father of the babies. Cut to about 5 years later, and Toorop is living in the hills with the twins (one's white and one's black by the way). He says there's a storm coming, and they walk back to the house. Cut to... OH WAIT! THAT'S THE END!

After the film, I had some questions. Not the least of which was why the needed a bloody mercenary to bring the girl from the convent to America in the first place! They can fly a doctor out there and back, but they can't just bring the girl back with him? They have to hire a mercenary to tke her on a tour of Europes refugee camps. Bullshit.
