This looks grand. Just Cause 2 is the prettiest looking open world game I played so far, and the largest. Wonder if Rico will have unlikable moments in this one, he was a dick in the final mission of Just Cause 2.

Looks like they slowed down movement with parachute for use in combat and added the wingsuit for traversal. God damn I want it.

I'm a fan already. Wonder if this will require more than 125 hours to 100%.

Nothing gets me more excited for a game than the announcement of a £20 season pass.

Kind of now reminds me of Fallout 4 hype.

It does look like one of the better PS4 games, still this season pass fad is dumb.

I don't think they've detailed what's in it beyond the announcement, just that it's 3 packs (water, ground, and air).

Looks great. Infinite C4 right off the bat. I've been playing Just Cause 2 again and the rarity of C4 is annoying. You have to buy it every time, and ideally upgrade it a lot so you can carry more. Just Cause 3 also allows multiple tethers so you can join multiple things together, and contract the tethers at will. Which also works when you're grappling around, so you can reel in faster to give yourself a bigger speed boost when flying.

I love it. The wingsuit is fantastic. It's the best flying in any game I've ever played (although I can't think of many). It's always exciting because there's always the chance of smashing head first into the ground or a lamppost, but you have to fly near stuff in order to boost along with the grappling hook. There are upgrades to let you slow down and land properly, and to close the wingsuit like you can with the parachute. At the moment if you're wingsuiting around you have to transition to the parachute, and then close the parachute to land. Feels like that stuff should be default controls, and I was trying to figure out how to do it before I saw it in the upgrade screen.
On the other hand I like that flying fast is dangerous, and it's very satisfying to do it well. I just zipped around for 5 minutes non-stop. Currently top of the leaderboard for longest continuous wingsuit flight. There's only 11 other people on the leaderboard but I don't think that matters really.
There's a lot more side activities, which is to be expected since that's how upgrades are earned now. Which means the thousands of collectibles that littered Just Cause 2's map are gone. I'm undecided on whether this is a good thing. Extra stuff to do is great, but it means the smaller locations having nothing in them now. Unless it's a proper town or a military base you just whoosh by, whereas there was always a reason to stop and look around in Just Cause 2.

Well, after 3 weeks I still love it. It definitely feels a bit smaller than Just Cause 2, because getting around is a lot faster. It's also shorter than Just Cause 2, because it takes less time to see all the "content". There's a much higher potential for just dicking around, but with Just Cause 2 because there were so many settlements and collectibles there was always still some progress to make.
There's 25 story missions, and random minor (extremely minor) missions that spawn all over, as apposed to the 5 or so main missions and 50 side missions in Just Cause 2. Chaos points don't do anything now, but they're still there for some reason. Everything depends on liberating settlements. It's how you unlock weapons and military vehicles for rebel drops, and some missions are only available after you've liberated a certain amount of things. Liberating places also unlocks the challenges.
The whole structure of the game is different, and it's tailored to a more linear progression through the world. The story missions go through the 3 regions of the game in a linear fashion, and the enemies/bases get harder from region to region.
Still, the dicking around is good. And there's a bunch of fun easter eggs and secrets. I haven't bothered to find most of them yet, but my favourite so far is the pogo stick.
Also the final boss is shit. Doesn't compare to the end of Just Cause 2.

(somehow one of those clips ended up with 30'000 views. I found out someone had posted it on reddit, and now I've had some messages from channels asking to use some of my clips in funny moment compilations and stuff)

The Sky Fortress DLC pretty much turns this into an Iron Man game.

This DLC has reignited my love for the game. I did one mission, did all the challenges to upgrade the new wingsuit, and now I'm back to just flying around for hours. I was afraid when I first heard about it that the Bavarium wingsuit would make flying boring, because it was the grappling and pulling yourself along that really made the flying unique and fun. And I was kind of right, just holding the boost button is dull. But they also added aerial dodge rolls, which give you a bit of boost. And you can chain two in a row for cool looking flips and turns. So now that has replaced the grappling hook for me, and I fly around just using barrel rolls to power myself along and look cool. I love swooping down over roads and blowing up cars and dodging the flying debris.
