There's this show called Under the Dome...

You remember in The Simpsons Movie when Springfield gets encased in a dome? It's pretty much that, except it's some weird electro-dome instead of a simple glass one.

I can't think of a sillier, more hamfisted drama than this. There's the psycho boyfriend who turns psycho in about 2 minutes because his girlfriend talked to someone. There's the mystery man who got trapped in the dome because he was burying a corpse at the time. The plucky journalist who follows everyone and needs to know everything. The shady councilman who wants to take control (but he's played by Hank from Breaking Bad so he's cool).

The twists and turns are immense and I've only seen 3 episodes. Psycho boyfriend locked his girlfriend in an old bomb shelter because he thinks the dome has made her crazy. The priest snuck into a house to get some documents and accidentally set fire to the whole building. Mystery murderer guy ended up staying with the wife of the guy he killed. The sheriff's pacemaker exploded. A couple of kids are having seizures and visions or something.

It's fascinating.

I started watching it way back when, but I gave up on it like 3 or 4 episodes in.

The book is amazing, the show is trash.

Yeah, I heard it gets really shit really quickly.

It's kind of shit from the start, but knowing it's a Steven King adaptation explains a lot.

Well, I'm caught up in it now. Took 5 episodes for the whole town to riot and start murdering each other. Then it rained and they were all instantly friends again. After just 8 days inside the dome there's already an underground blackmarket and bare-knuckle boxing ring. Also a weird egg thing.

How the hell is this going to last for 3 seasons?

So they hooked you in with agriculture, nice.

Man, this show is amazing. Season 1 ended on a huge cliffhanger. Big Jim convinced the whole town Barbie was a murderer and they were about to publicly hang him, Julia became the "Monarch" or whatever, the egg made the whole dome go crazy, the dome wants Big Jim dead apparently...

And then in one episode everything is resolved (or rather everything was undone, or rather everything just went nowhere), two main characters are randomly killed off in stupid ways, and some new characters are introduced. Also they said the center of the dome was in the school, but I'm fairly sure in season 1 the center of the dome was in the woods somewhere, because that's where they foung the egg.
