This sounds like a great thing to have on PS3:

It basically turns your PS3 into a karaoke machine. This hopefully works well. For any of you guys who've actually gone karaoke you'd now how insanely expensive it can get. I'll definitely test this out when it comes out.

Yes and no.  

Singstar is a singing game.  You buy set songs (on a disc or whatever) you get points on the songs its got difficulty levels, the game points out you're a brilliant singer if you're me or a terrible singer if you're someone less important. It also has the music videos.

SingOn is a karaoke machine, it seems to just have lyrics to sing along to, no game and possibly no video either just the lyrics.  You pay for a session to have access to the games full library as you would rent a karaoke room.  Its current pricing is £3 for 3 hours, £6 for 48 hours or £50 for a year.  Its definitely not made for general use, though I'm sure peopel will get the year pass and not use it becauase people do that kind of thing, but that 3 hour pass to break out after a few drinks seems like a great thing and I'm certain people who are into that and want the latest songs and not just what happens to be on the rock band disc will absolutely love this. Apparently we'll get 10 songs free on this to.

EDIT: also its going to be fun when Mrs TTB is singing in TTBs ears, when she discovers this. Although I'm sure he'll turn that into if.

Oh I see. Yeah, that does sound like it'd be pretty cool for smaller parties.

I can't sing karaoke until I'm extremely drunk and unable to actually sing.
