Also the SSJ God design is so beyond horrible. Like some AF shit/create your own character monstrosity. I kept myself unspoiled on the desing but I probably shouldn't have.

SSJ God was like putting Disney eyes (Just so out of place) on him and then just making him a vibrant version of Kaio-Ken. Not creative at all, just downright stupid. I didn't mind Bills as a character but the whole concept behind him was retarded. Besides, Toriyama directly ripped off the whole "can't sense his power level because it's on another level" thing from Bleach. It's sad that Toriyama is now ripping off one of many manga that were inspired from his own work.

The movie was fine, it was dumb and stupid like any DBZ thing has been since its inception. Bills and Whis were fun new characters, but I certainly don't care if I really see them in anything in the near future. The entire movie is basically build up to the giant final fight scene which sort of fluctuates between being bad and good, I mean it gets really cool near the end but before that it sort of messes around a bit and has dumb CG, so yeah. Japanese voices for the most part are still bad, but a lot of the comedy was pretty good down to Vegeta singing and dancing.

Oh and Trunks macking on Kid Mai was adorable.

Toriyama would like Vegeta to be the main character next time if another movie should come about.

In the same interview, we get some new info on Goku's mother.

Gine had a gentle personality and wasn’t cut out as a warrior, being repeatedly saved from danger by Bardock. At that time, a special emotion was born between them. Normally, Saiyans don’t have much of a notion of romance or marriage, and apart from the royal family of Vegeta, they aren’t particular about blood-relationships.

Being in among all that, I suppose you could say that the pair of Bardock and Gine were those rare Saiyans who were joined by a bond other than for reproductive purposes.

Incidentally, Gine, who was not cut out as a warrior, would go on to work at the meat distribution center on Planet Vegeta.

Seeing info like this is neat and all, but I'm kinda bummed that his mother wasn't just a regular ol' Saiyan warrior or whatever. It's already a bit of a stretch that his father just happened to be some super cool badass that also stood up to Freeza, but now his mother had to be different and have some special bond with Bardock too? Seems kind of fanfic-y and boring. There's nothing wrong with making her interesting, but if they were to ever do some small story revolving around those two, it'd make for a more fun dynamic between them if she were more similar to the Saiyans we've seen in the series than if she were some generic gentle love interest.

I loved the movie. Can't wait for the second film. About time Vegeta gets the spotlight he deserves.
