I can't say I remotely give a damn about a Strider game in 2014, especially not one by Double Helix (Seriously, why are people still giving them work?), but whatever if it's a downloadable title that's like 15 bucks it can't be too terrible.

It's not going to be because Double Helix is a fucking garbage developer and the game already looks slow as molasses.

So regardless of how it turns out you're never going to buy this right?

Unless the game gets like sterling reviews and the dudes who have played the original Strider like me approve of it, no I'm not. I'm not being unreasonable either, Double Helix has not made a single good game in the entirety of their existence. The new Killer Instinct looks just as bad as the old ones were and this new Strider already has things I don't like about it. It would help if most of Capcom's new games that aren't fighting games were decent, but for the most part they've been garbage because of all of the bad western devs they hand them off to.
I could be wrong and this could turn out like Dead Rising 2 which ends up being a surprisingly good game, but I doubt it.

The green lantern game like i mentioned earlier was actually one of the better super hero games in a while, sure it was a god of war clone, but I preferred it to god of war, was kinda nice to have cutomisable powers. Front mission evolved 3 was also meant to be really good even though i didn't play it. The main reason i heard westerners didn't like it was when they played online they got violated by the japanese players.
The licenses they've dealt with previously aren't games which play like strider. They aren't a great developer, but neither was Way Forward and i loved Double Dragon Neon. I'd be more apprehensive if this was a full retail title but as a PSN title it could turn out good.

The difference is Wayforward has earned the benefit of the doubt because they've found their niche and made fun games starting with Brave and the Bold in 2010. They've continued making good games with Mighty Switch Force, Double Dragon Neon, and even Adventure Time was surprisingly good.
Double Helix doesn't have a single decently rated game except Green Lantern which has average reviews. If Strider ends up being good then I am willing to reconsider my opinion, but as of now they have not earned the benefit of the doubt. Especially since Capcom has a history of hiring really bad Western devs that more often than not are terrible and they get them because they're cheap and they can push them around.

You need to take that back, WayForward are one of the best developers ever to be relegated to making licensed games. The stuff they've released on their own has pretty much all been great.

Really i'm not sure what games you are referring to, I mean I see justice league heroes, but i thought snowblind/blizzard did that. Other than that yeah I've heard brave and the bold was good. I didn't really like bloodrayen betrayal, but i think i considered it a crap shank so that is possible bias.
Unless I'm missing something. Either way i'm cautiously optimistic, when it comes to reviving an old game in this 2.5D way they've been doing lately i don't recall any major disappointments. So I'll give them a chance.
I remember people really hating Grimm and i thought bionic commando and watchmen were pretty fun games, not like amazing, but they were entertaining to play if you know what I mean between the difference of a game for unknown reasons just being very playable compared to games that are polished and objectively good.

Shantae and the Mighty series are all fantastic and are among the few non-licensed titles that WayForward have made, apparently A Boy & His Blob is good too but I've never played it.

The biggest problem with the new Strider game so far is not even that Double Helix is directing it, this is a result of that, but it's something you should never do. The game looks slow, Strider should never be slow, hell even in every Marvel vs Capcom game he's been in he's been a character who is defined by his speed. If Strider can't zoom across the screen in under 10 seconds, there's already something wrong with your Strider game.

The original Strider's actually pretty fast, that gameplay video does not do it justice at all.

The game looks better from the new trailer, actually show off more of the stuff you can do is good. The fact you can up the speed makes me happier too, now they need to fucking fix the fact that you can just eat bullets and nothing is really a threat and it has a chance of being good.
