| anyone, get this? it's for xobx 360 and being released for PC
it's an open world survival rpg with zombies.
i don't know much about the story but you play as a character that can build a base safe from zombies and you have to manage supplies you get from looting places. you can also rescue other survivors and invite them to your base help maintain it or give them orders to explore the world for supplies.
there are guns and melee weapons for combat, but you can also use stealth or distractions as well
anyway, the survival aspects are what sound the most interesting and i'm tempted to get this

| I've watched Nova attempt to play it. And by attempt to play it, I mean he ran around and kept using cars to run over zombies and shit. lol | |

| played the demo. it's one of the longest demo's i've ever played. i easily dropped in an hour and half into it and i simply stopped just in case i'd have to start all over again when i get the full game, despite the fact that i still had time before the trial auto ended.
most of the gameplay methods are very basic as far as attacking, looting, and sneaking. it wasn't too hard either until i decided to explore myself and five zombies rushed me when i started searching an abandoned house.
each character also has traits that effect the growth of their stats, the base of their stats, and i believe their personality. the first partner i had never hesitated to restrain a zombie for me to get a one hit kill on it.
there are other gameplay mechanics that i wasn't able to fully explore in the demo like influence, which decreases over time or by taking supplies for yourself, or increases by bringing supplies back. and i wasn't able to check out base management much either.

| bought the full game. it's pretty good. a bit glitchy in certain areas, but nothing game breaking.
there's different zombie. aside from regular ones i've seen a fat one that has pretty high health and it looks like it has an area attack with it's ground pound. also saw an infested area labeled screamer, so i assume that's another type as well.
base management is decent as well. you can build facilities to give your home abilities and defense. the amount of facilities buildable is related to how big your home base is. i don't think i have seen all that it has to offer yet.
friendly A.I can be a bit of a problem when sneaking around too.

| I'm downloading the demo now, but at nearly 2GB it'll take a little while so I won't play it until tomorrow night. I've heard very good things about it, so quite looking forward to this. | |

| it is pretty good. right now supply collecting is a pain for me, but i think that might be my fault.
forgot to mention i started using guns last night and the aim feels a little stiff

| also, if you decide to get this simian, be aware that the game simulates itself while you aren't playing | |

| Simulated itself? You mean like the world goes on even Without the player? | |

| yes
i don't know how drastically the game plays as you're away, but when i returned to mine, one person who was originally injured had recovered while two others were suffering from injuries. my community morale took a pretty large hit too and i wasn't sure what else had changed. i've read that the game simulation is slower the long er you're away, though.

| It's a bit rough technically isn't it? Got stuck on a kerb within ten minutes of playing and could free myself so had to quit and restart. | |

| after about 16 hours away from my game, my community morale dropped a lot. i was also running low on medicine and construcion materials and one of my members contracted black fever.
as i went out to get medicine, my radio person told me to come back because a community member had executed the sick person. not sure if this is story related or not. a few minutes later, the very person who executed the other person became ill with black fever. i had no problem executing him.
