A short review because there are no spoilers

Brilliant film and in my opinion the best yet. It was surprising funny and kept mostly to the book. If you got bored of lord the rings, this film does have much more action in it then the Fellowship of the Ring. If you haven't seen any of the Lord of the Ring films it doesn’t matter and is a good bases to start from.

I watched this and loved it. I might even prefer it to the original trilogy. It's also great in terms of added in scenes just to make it feel more connected to the original trilogy.

Some really great action and just the general comradery made it a great watch. Definitely one of the best films of 2012.

Anyone who has watched this gave me positive feedback. I might go watch it sometime with my friends. Hope you guys are right as I was planning to see Rise of the Guardians instead..

Meh, I wasnt that keen, as I pointed out in my relevant topic. There are some strange and unnecessary additions to the lore which are ripped from the appendices of LotR and pushed into the hobbit to artificially extend the running time, a lack of character development for any of the dwarves bar Thorin and it left me feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

Also, Rise of the Guardians was a pretty average kids film. Don't bother.

At least Kili and Fili were different characters.
