This being announced a couple of weeks ago was the straw that broke the camel's back when it came to me getting a 3DS, really looking forward to it. Also Phoenix looks great in a three piece suit.
Those aren't localization projects, those were games that the development was stunted by a lack of interest and probably Inafune's departure. Unless you're implying the Ace Attorney games are going to be cancelled in which case that's silly, they're crazy popular in Japan and have a pretty good following in the US.
Well first of all, Capcom has different development teams in general, so acting like it's the whole company's fault because 2 Megaman games were cancelled is childish and that no part of it can be trusted even moreso. Secondly, Megaman's not anywhere near as popular as it used to be while Ace Attorney is still very popular in Japan and has a decent enough following in America and EU for a localization to not be out of the question. Finally, 2 Megaman games getting cancelled is not the end of the world unless you are seriously the saltiest Megaman fan there has ever been to exist.
In summary, Capcom cancelling 2 Megaman games is not grounds for you to act like a petulant child crossing your arms going "NOPE NOPE NOPE THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING" to everything Capcom does when they've released literally every other game they planned to release and shown results for them too.

They will deliver. They never made promises on Ace Attorney Investigations 2. In fact, Christian S'venson (Spelling?) said that they definitely wouldn't because localization cost would overshadow their projected return.

This might even tie together Apollo Justice and Ace Attorney Investigations together with the rest of the Phoenix Wright games and bring some people from both games in. A Lang cameo would be kickass.

The redhead girl is "Kitsuki Kokone" or something along those lines and is a defense attorney trained in psychology, which explains the emotion reading thing. Not sure whether Phoenix will be training her or not but I'm assuming that's also where hobo-Phoenix will be brought in to it, given he's a poker player and has some talent in that field himself.

Has there been any word on Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney being localized? I swear I've heard something, but never any real confirmation.
Nothing official as far as I know but someone said that in a press release from TGS2011 related to the game there was a line that read "English names are TBD" so hopefully that's true.
