2012 Movies Discussion Thread

Alright all the movies coming out in 2012! Which are you excited about, think are gonna be good/bad, ect.

Personally I can't wait for Avengers, Amazing Spiderman, and piranha 3dd. I'm also planning on seeing Chronicle, Man on Ledge, Red Tails, and Devil Inside. Any opinions on those 4 films? (No spoilers tho plz kthainx haha)

looking forward to Avengers and Amazing Spiderman, that's about it as far as looking forward to movies goes.. (i'm probably forgetting some, but still)


would be neat if the new Tarantino released this year though.

Also I'm also looking forward to the Ghost Rider film, Spirit of Vengeance. I heard there introducing Angels, maybe Zadkiel might be in the film would be interested.

Movies I saw of this year releases:

*Rurouni Kenshin:
This was unexpectedly good, seeing trailers showing them speak Japanese got me interested, the song threw me off the trailer a bit, and I didn't know what to expect from the movie. From what I saw of the series this looks pretty faithful adaption, and not just faithful, it's a pretty good movie, action scenes are fun

*The Grey:
Liam Neeson vs Wolves, that's the main premise. Execution is solid and the movie is pretty good

*The Avengers:
Like D-UH, who didn't see this?

*The Dark Knight Rises:
Has enough flaws to make some people skin crawl, but Bane and Selina steal the show

*The Amazing Spider-Man:
Not the better origin, not better than all the Spidey movies, only better than one of them

*Dredd:
*In a low tone* "I am the law". Makes me love Stallone's: "I AM....THE LAAW" more than I did before
A very good movie, great moments for Dredd

*Chronicle:
It's a good movie, nice ideas and all

*Cabin in the Woods:
Zombie at the door is funny

*Wreck-It Ralph:
Toy Story with Arcade games instead, good movie, I like it a lot more than Toy Story 3

*Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter:
Let's just say I enjoy the movie, call it guilty pleasure if you wish

*Safe:
First movie I saw this year, really entertaining Statham Punisher-esque film

*Men in Black 3:
This sweetness here is a lot more entertaining than the second film

*The Hunger Games:
Great film

*Ted:
Funny stuff, best stuff is the store job, Ted as a clerk

*Resident Evil Retribution:
It's ok I guess, nice action, pretty dull story

*Resident Evil Damnation:
This animated film is my favorite Resident Evil film

*Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance:
Great action, funny Ghost Rider scenes. Bad story

*Looper:
Not one of my favorites

This movie is:
Not an American adaption of Manga (like Dragonball Evolution, only manga to live action film I saw before, and it sucked)
Actors are Japanese, not American
Adapted characters and plots from manga to movie pretty well
Action scenes are fun to watch
It's a good film, my expectations were set for worse

Song used in the trailer (and the end credits) is rock, Rock music and Samurai stuff is not appealing

Are you serious? A japanese movie had japanese actors and was in japanese, this is insane :O

He's right though, Japanese acting is generally of a higher quality than Hollywood so it's preferable if you ever have the choice. I always wonder what classics like Citizen Kane could have been had they used superior Japanese actors.

I said it's better that it has Japanese actors, a manga based film set in Japan
I'm not really into actors from one country are better than those from another

All I remember about this year of film is that The Dark Knight Rises was a disappointment.

Most disappointing film of 2012 is Expendables 2
Big role for Arnold in the trailer, wait to see him only in the last 20 minutes

The first Expendables was garbage what did you expect from the sequel?

More face time for Arnold
Not a fan of the first, didn't expect this one to have a good story
