- Trey Parker and Matt Stone have never been shy about their love of gaming. From Randy Marsh playing Guitar Hero in his underpants to the legendary "Make Love, Not Warcraft" episode, the comic duo have demonstrated an obvious familiarity with the medium. Now that they've conquered television, film, and Broadway, the next target on their hit list is the gaming industry.
Thanks to a collaboration with THQ and Obsidian, Parker and Stone are writing the script, performing the dialogue, and overseeing the development of South Park: The Game. Unlike the cash-in Acclaim titles from over a decade ago, this ambitious project is a full-scale RPG for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. As the new kid in South Park, it'll be up to you to make friends and defend the town from a wide range of threats. Be sure to check out our January issue for all the details, as well as an interview with Parker and Stone themselves.
This issue will begin arriving in subscribers' mailboxes throughout the next week, and you can check out the digital version when it goes live on December 8 (click here to subscribe to our digital edition).
South Park won't be out until sometime in 2012, but you can check out video interviews, extended info, and more on our hub throughout the month. Stay tuned!

- - You play as a silent protagonist. A new kid in town who must work to fit in.
- It’s the first South Park game Stone and Parker have actively participated in and written the script for. - Obsidian is using the Dungeon Siege III engine, there will be five classes (wizard, paladin, adventurer, rogue, and a fifth unannounced class). - Apparently “elements of the combat system are like Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi games”. So it’s an RPG map with turn-based encounters. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=454179It actually sounds like it could be good, Obsidian generally make very good (though sometimes buggy/unfinished) RPGs so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

| I was reading something that was slamming Obsidian before and said with this being their exclusive project it will blow hard, like alpha protocol did. I don't know cuz I've never played it. They said the only thing Obsidian can do use existing tech from their parent companies to make good game that will still never be better than the original, for example F:NV. | |

Obsidian have a habit of working really slowly and ending up getting rushed by the publisher which results in an unfinished game, they're actually among the best western RPG developers and their writers are some of the best in the industry. Also NV is a much better game than Fallout 3.

| You thought NV was better than 3? I liked it better too but it was waybuggier than 3 was...and that's saying something. They basically used the original fallout 3 that Interplay had established before they were disbanded. Story wise at least.
It's cool that Stone and Parker are working on the writing but I still probably wont get this game. I just really don't see how it's going to be a good rpg though I guess we gotta wait and see.

I used community made bugfix mods for both games so I can't comment on how clean the programming was, I just thought NV felt more alive, it was much better written and it didn't take a gigantic shit over everything Fallout originally was like 3 did.

| I'd advise game developers to make a special version just for Germany, and delay it about a month or so just for the extra work, and then the rest of Europe can have their normal game. | |

| I expect you'll all just get the Australian version, which replaces the animated scenes with text. - Quote :
- At several stages throughout the level which involves the player character being abducted and taken aboard an alien spacecraft, text appears onscreen which describes instances of sexual violence. The text includes "aliens forcibly probe your rectum with a dildo-shaped probe", "probe his ass with violent force" and "causing his anal probe to penetrate him over and over".

| ha, so I got this early today. it's a lot of fucking fun. the only thing that's a bit of a nuisance is getting around town, cause the layout is a bit weird, and some places you can only get by taking one certain path. But lucky enough, you can open up a fast travel option (which is Timmy disguised as a cart and horse) who can take you to places where you've unlocked the fast travel. so getting around town isn't that much of an issue once you've opened up all of them.
the fights are pretty fun, some of the moves require good timing though, and can be a bit of a pain to complete perfectly sometimes, but it is quite entertaining.
I've played for a couple of hours I think, found lots of cool things that hint at the TV-series obviously. Found Al Gore looking for ManBearPig, you can go to Cartman's room and open up a closet to find all sorts of stuff from previous episodes, like the Awesome-O box and whatnot..
all in all, very fun experience so far, if you love the show, you'll love this.

| This is what you see in the European console version instead of the anal probe scene: - Spoiler:
