| Based on the comic of the same name, it's Batman's first forays into vigilantism and his eventual donning of the cowl.
Bryan Cranston (Walt from Breaking Bad!) voices Jim Gordon and does a dynamite job. Unfortunately, Kevin Conroy is nowhere to be seen and some other guy voices Batman. Conroy should voice Batman for everything.
Also, speaking of bad things: like the comic, all the characters' inner monologue suffers from Miller syndrome. What I mean by that is:
Short Statement. Period. Short Statement. Period. Short Statement.
Which really grates when it's actually voiced (it's bad enough in the comics.)
Other than that, it was a faithful adaption of a great story. Bryan Cranston is amazing as always.

Frank Miller's early DareDevil run is one of the best in, Born Again is great, Batman Year One is ok, his MTU annual is funny with Spider-Man and DareDevil All Star Batman & Robin is fun as an alternate take, but I hate that Bat-Know it all-Bastard when he's like that, love his violent self. It's so bad it's good. Everything else written by Miller is utter crap Morrison wrote a very good All Star Superman story, great Batman & Robin, some good pieces here and there, everything else is varies from 'meh' to 'bleh' | |
