Hell yeah, definitely buying this. They said they were gonna make all the improvements people wanted from one, i hope that includes online co-op.

If it has online co-op I'll probably end up getting it.

They seem tight lipped about what the rest of the game will be like though.

Klei also said they'd love to make a samurai Jack game but they don't have the license.

survival is just that with an added objective to protect crates from bomb specialists. you get money from killing enemies and can purchase stuff by pushing select. bosses also appear every few rounds or so. other than this i don't know much else.

Is there only one survival stage or multiple ones?

Oh really? That sounds like a nice idea to add some variety into the game. This is definitely sounding more and more like a must buy.

i didn't play shank 1 but this one has a pet peeve of mine, that being the levels themselves seem a lot harder than their respective bosses.

I don't remember that being a problem on shank 1, everything was paced decently enough i don't remember any trouble spots and the boss fights seemed challenging enough. The final boss was a right motherfucker though, he basically had shanks moveset.

i've read that some people think this is harder though personally, i can't tell if i just have moments of sheer brilliance and i just suck at this game. or this game has staggering difficulty variety

The difficulty spikes you are having are probably the not having the prior knowledge of the enemies coming up and not necessarily choosing the most suitable weapons for the job. I bet on a replay on normal at least you'll find the game a joke. The hard mode on 1 was fucking impossible.

i'm playing hard mode on a first run. chapter 4 was a fucking nightmare and 5 and 6 were complete jokes. 4's boss was also a joke

Does hard mode still remove all checkpoints?

I've heard 2 is a lot easier then 1. Its also supposed to be super short its why i didn't buy it. Hence the reason why i need to know if survival mode is worth buying the game for it.

there are still checkpoints. the only difference i spotted between them is the fact that enemies do more damage, though i only played normal for like half a level.

On shank 1 if you died on hard you had to restart the whole level, it got too frustrating too quickly, hence i never persevered to finish it. This one is sounding way easier. Especially considering the dodge function is stupidly easy to do now. You had to press two buttons to dodge in 1.

I honestly doubt you'll be able to play 1 after playing 2 as Klei themselves said 2s controls are way better then 1s. The only huge decline in 2 from 1 is you can no longer switch weapons mid combo. as you carried every weapon all the time in 1 and you had a bigger range of weapons to carry, but there were next to no temp weapons aside from heavy guns.

beat the final boss and once again the level itself was far more difficult than the boss. at first, i did think the boss was challenging, then, i realised you could destroy the turrets that assist him and he became a walking joke

beat normal mode. now someone needs to play survival mode with me.

if it wasn't for survival mode i would have honestly hated this purchase.

i've unlocked all but one character, though they aren't costume changes like i thought, they may as well be as there are only three heavy / range equipment for males and two heavy / range equipment for females.

Shank 1 was a more full experience Klei acknowledged that by making this cheaper then the first.

they were both the same price

Really on EU store shank to was 20% less and Americans were saying the same about the US store, it might have been a promotional first week thing or something.
