PS3 not working...

So I was playing Uncharted 1 when the PS3 shut itself off and the red LED blinked red and now every time I try to turn it on, it shuts itself off and goes to the blinking light again. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hit it with a bat. That's how I fixed mine!

I used mine as a paper wieght for a while and then threw it out the window. You can fix it by fluxing the motherboard but it will only be temporary. Mine lasted another 6 months and then died again after that. The 60 gigs were a fucking rip off. Yours lasted pretty long though. Did you get it in '06?

08 iirc, just before they stopped making the 60 gigs.

I have a 40gb from 2007 are these safe from YLOD?

From what I'm aware of the only problems were with the 20 and 60 gig models.

Mine is a 60 gig, but I thought they were happening to all old models.

I have a 160 GB model, so I should be fine.

My 80gig has been going strong for almost 3 years now.

I've had a 500gb model since 2008 and it's never gone wrong on me.

I've had my since 08 and it went strong until yesterday.

Anyway, I'm getting a 160 gig PS3 as a trade in for $100.

I'm pretty pissed that I won't have backwards compatibility anymore with PS3, and I have to wait for them to get my Uncharted disc out of the 60gig and send it back. I tried that whole troubleshooting thing and it didn't work.

You can manually eject PS3 discs.

Have you sent it already? I'm not at my computer but when i get home i can check to see how its done.

The Customer service person went over that with me, and I tried it and it didn't work. You just hold your finger over the eject button and turn the main power on.

You shoulda just opened it up and taken it out. Since you're getting a new one who cares if you peel the void sticker

It actually doesn't matter because either way I can't play Uncharted until the new system comes. I'd rather not mess with the PS3.

it's already broken and the warranty is expired, their is no harm in taking it apart . send it in to sony and get a replacement 120 Gb for 150 bucks like i did

As said, I'm getting a 160gb for $100. I made sure I expressed my frustration pretty well as to make them give me a good offer.

I believe so. If so, I should be getting a slim.

if it's slim make sure you clean the dust out from the back every so often
