| I know this is a very simple thing that most of us most likely know. But after going through a lot of older topics, I noticed that we don't have enough threads that detail one game to be close enough to be like an encyclopedia and I'd appreciate it if we can start doing this with more threads from now on. A thread with more an extremely detailed OP is more likely to get people interested in what you're trying to discuss more than a thread where you give a basic summary and show off some videos. I realized this recently and now I need to revise my UMVC3 thread so it contains more detail than characters and music and other crap that's meaningless compared to what the actual game is like.
Thank you for taking the time to read my already obvious suggestion.

| Not that I disagree but someone has to play devils advocate and I'd be interested in your take on it anyway: How do you propose this works with purely single player games? Obviously it's fairly simple with fighters as metagame is a huge part and there's a lot you can learn outside of actually playing the game but when it comes to other genres how does one go into great detail without spoiling something? | |

| Basically, with single-player games what you want to do when it comes to the story just give a general summarization of the story. The main thing you'll want to do with these threads is to detail every little gaming aspect for a game, like say Batman Arkham City. With Arkham City you could literally have tons of things to talk about like the chunks of story we get of how the city turned into Arkham City, the new characters, gameplay features, any interviews, special videos and hell even an FAQ for any general questions you need to address.
There are several different ways you can litter a single-player game OP with detail without spoiling the story.

| Give a general gist of what important facts you want in and I guess we can try and cover it for every game, that we start talking about from now.
If its a big old game and i like it and i bump it i might fill it in for those to.

| Okay then.
Picture of the game title. Summary of the game (Publishers, developers, release dates etc.). Summary of the story (If it doesn't have one, that's fine.) Characters (If it doesn't have characters, that's fine) Gameplay mechanics Screenshots Videos Any extra trivia you wish to add or FAQs.
Obviously I am not saying this should be strictly followed but since you're asking me for a general gist, I guess we'd post for stuff like that.

| If a post is longer than a few paragraphs I wont read it. There are more important things to do on the internet like porn. | |

| Alternatively, you could post a link to its corresponding GameFAQs page. | |

| That too. Posting links to other things involving the game like a website is something to add to the OP too. | |

| I think its a fairly decent idea i did like the few topics baal made and that anarchy reigns one by neo. If i'm into a game enough i'll post something like that next time.
It will also probably get more interest if people know what the fuss is about.

| I love what Baal did with the OP of the UMvC3 topic. I really did. | |

| People can do it if they want. It's a silly thing to try to enforce though. | |

| I'm not trying to enforce it or anything, just making a suggestion. | |

I completely agree though I myself put in great authentic detail in every single post that I have made on this forum. Anyone who says otherwise loves me or is jealous of my overwhelming detail I put in.
