Need help connecting my ps3 to the internet

Alright so i can't use east setup for a wireless connection.

So i have to do that DNS nonsense. Thing is i logged into my router pulled up the numbers and entered them and it obtains a IP address but can't connect to the internet.

I've established that the subnet mask, Ps3 Ip and router IP are correct. The problem is clearly the DNS. Any tips from a pro will be helpful.

Just out of interest why do you need to connect it to the internet, given the current situation?

When I've used wireless before the DNS has been automatic, you could try that although from the sound of it you already have, I'm not sure what else you can do.

Also I know this isn't really helpful but you should just use a wired connection if it's at all possible.

I can use a wired connection but i broke that thing top part of the wire that plugs into my Ps3 plus now it has to go through a door. I have considered getting a homeplug though i might just buy one. Or i could be cheaper and just buy another ethernet cable, although i'd like to have the option of wireless just for downloading in the background.
