Song's a bit meh, but the visuals are great and very appropriate. Lyrics are appropriate too, even though they're as corny as any J-pop song.
Let’s set out on our journey before dawn To greet our unseen tomorrows We have no regrets in our resolve (Oh I know what I’m supposed to do)
No matter what kind of trials lie ahead, Nothing can stop my beating heart There is only one place to go (Fly to the light)
Bonds forged through battle (That’s right) I won’t let anyone break them (That’s right) When I open my clenched fist, I will find power there
Let’s start The new world is calling Now look No matter how many seas separate us I’m always standing by you Don’t be afraid to advance Don’t forget We fight together
I’ve never spoiled the memory Of the vast infinite sky that I looked up to that day We’ve come a long way Each with our own pledge in our heart There is no doubt There are things we must carry with us
The sun will rise And shine equally on even our sorrows I believe in The future that will become one piece someday, Let’s go find it together You’re irreplaceable Don’t forget We fight together

All the opening songs sound "meh" the first time around, but after a dozen or so episodes you're humming them even if they're utter tosh.
Also, I take it that the anime's not quite at the time skip yet?

They just started that god-awful flashback.
And it wouldn't be Toei if they didn't draaaaaaaaag it out. The episode only covered half a chapter.
They'll pull a DBZ with the post-timeskip. Start from scratch.

The Luffy/Ace/Sabo flashback?
Yuck. That dragged even in the manga.
On the subject of the timeskip, a thought occurred to me;
Spoiler:
When we are re introduced to Coby post-Enies Lobby, he's grown up somewhat. That being the case, obviously a reasonable time has passed since he and Luffy last saw each other (even though Luffy looks exactly the same)... are we ever given a timeframe of any sorts for the length of the adventure from Luffy's recruitment of Zoro up til the end of the War arc?

Half a year at the most. Oda said Koby had a growth spurt.
