my ps3 controller wireless doesn't work anymore unless i have a usb cable attached to it. any reasons why?
when i push the PS button the light flashes slowly and when i hold it down it flashes regularly
hope i don't need a new one...

ya, i thought that was the problem at first but after an hour or so i checked the charge icon and it was finished

Try changing the controller port, and try using it on another console.

i tried using a different usb to register it but still nothing. i guess i'll have to wait and see if i can use it on someone else' ps3 then

That happened to me the other day, I restarted the PS3 a couple of times and reset the controller (the button is on the underside of the controller, near the top-right corner of the label) and it started working again.
