Kinda makes all these releases seem kinda pointless i'll definitely pick this up as it will almost definitely be worth the cost.

Cuz it got released in like 3 acts. The US only saw 1 act and it was on the Saturn so I never got to play it but heard it was pretty awesome.

Shining force 1 is one of my favourite RPGs of all time.
The series is definitely worth playing just for the first game alone.

i prefer shining force 3 over the other 2 but the graphics in battle might make your eyes bleed as they haven't aged well

1st gen 3d games age like shit
Shining force 1 is the best looker out of the series IMO, but i disliked SF2 for a bunch of reasons i.e. useless classes/characters/you could grind

3 has a very balanced level system so it is a challenge all the way through

But can you grind?
Grinding battles are always a turn off for me as it eliminates skill and is noob friendly, i prefer games that punish insolence and stupidity.

you can grind anywhere but really only to a point where you can match normal enemies and early bosses
the only good grinding spot is at the end of each game. only healers can actually be grinded to high levels early on

Thats why 1 will always hold a special place alongside Crystal warriors, as you can always complete the levels with your teams. But you won't ever be overpowered. If you force all your XP into one character it will cost you later.
Shining Force probably perfects this by encouraging you to mix up your team more. Crystal warriors used a level cap either method works though.

They'll never include SoA in a collection like that. They could release it as a budget release in it's own right and it would still sell.
Speaking of Shining Force, I loved 3 on the Saturn. The sprites were fine, but the 3d battle graphics were glitchy even then, so they'd look horrendous now...
Yep, graphics are rubbish. Incidentally, like a complete idiot, I sold my Saturn around ten or eleven years ago. The idiotic part? I let the whole thing go for a tenner. Shining Force 3 alone is worth around £30-£50 today, depending on condition. Not to mention I sold Skies of Arcadia. What a tool.

Of course that's after we go around forcing people to get and play it first.

We could force people to play the Wii version. That's meant to be fairly good.

Gamecube version you mean(that's the one I have). There ain't no Wii one. I assume that if it gets a PSN release, they'll have the Gamecube/Legends extras as an optional DLC similar to Sonic Adventure's release on PSN.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I played it briefly on the Wii though.

That's what's good for Wii owners. Considering it's backwards compatible, if people spot the GC port, they can just grab it and still be able to enjoy it on the Wii. =P

Soul Calibur was breathtaking, yeah, the first real arcade quality title available at home. Never really liked Sonic Adventure, but I loved Power Stone, Metropolis Street Racer and Capcom's VS series.
I bought a fair amount of tat as well, stuff like Ready to Rumble boxing, which was fun for a week, then you realised just how hideously shallow and repetitive it actually was.
