| I'm at Tomorrowland now and I cannot count the amount of times I've died due to the annoying camera. Oh well, the scenery is nice but the new "Hit with thinner, then spin attack" enemies are really annoying the hell out of me. Anyways, I should probably describe a bit more. Epic Mickey is the story of Mickey Mouse being dragged into a world of forgotten Disney characters and things since he fucked with it years before becoming popular and the monster than was in it came after him years later. Mickey must fight Blot creatures and the demented world while either restoring the world to forming glory or wrecking shit up.
If you plan to get this game, don't go in it expecting to have fun with the platforming or gameplay, both are average as it can get and the camera kills you during most of the platforming. The real draw of the game is old time Disney, the game creeping you the fuck out and finally, the karma system (If you're into that sort of thing). The first non-tutorial world you experience took me a minute to recognize until I finally learned that it was the damned "It's a Small World" ride which creeped me the hell out, then came the boss. The boss itself is a bit creepy but what hits you the hardest is the music which is also the music for the previous level but the boss music is actually a different version and far more twisted. There's also Ostown... which really doesn't need much mention and Mickeyjunk Mountain, my god. Mickeyjunk Mountain is made up entirely of old Mickey Mouse merchandise that has long been forgotten. Phones, lunch boxes, video games cartridges, it's all pretty damn jarring.
Also, this game is too fucking dark... and I don't mean that in a sense of mood, I mean that this game is so fucking dark I had to adjust my TV's brightness settings, which I have never had to do with any game before EVEN SILENT HILL 2. The camera in this game is atrocious too, I like the concepts and stuff they give you but fuck, they could've done something with this camera before finishing the game.

| Okay, the fetch quests in Ventureland alone are starting to kill my enthusiasm. Seriously, how many fucking fetch quests can you have in one game? | |

Also is the in game stuff actually from old cartoons or just meant to be from old cartoons? In one word: Yes. In several words: Mickey was mischievous and caused a bit of trouble but still nice and it's not all just from old cartoons, they even use old Disney Merchandise as part of it.

| I finished Tomorrowland yesterday. Tomorrowland is basically a futuristic world where it's overrun by the Beetlworx, a bunch of robots who exist solely to slap your shit. It wasn't scary but it was an interesting level and the boss of it was Petetronic aka Pete in a Tron Outfit. I guess at one point Disney considered having Pete in Tron, maybe a Kingdom Hearts 2 thing.
I also finished Ventureland last night. Ventureland is basically everything Peter Pan. But the actually level isn't creepy at all, hell if anything it's hilarious. But this is where a lot of things just become silly in what Disney considers scrapped and forgotten because even though Peter Pan hasn't been popular over here in a good while, people still know about fucking Peter Pan. They know about Skull Island, they know about Smee, the Jolly Roger and all of that, so why is this even a world? I mean I understand Robot Hook and (The hilarious) Pete Pan, those seem like scrapped designs they would've used at one point, but they did use the other ones and those are still known... ah well whatever, maybe I'm just overthinking it. Anyways the level isn't too creepy until the Jolly Roger and that quickly loses its flair once Hook stars making bad puns.

| The last part of this game atrocious. It continues to drag on and drag on constantly with you having to destroy the tentacles of the Blot over and over. Even when I thought I was done with it, later I'm sucked into the Blot and have to destroy the Blot's tentacles inside of it around Mickey's heart. Yet each tentacle branches off into a different path with tentacles flying out of the sides of the walls and then the last part of each path has indestructible enemies (I think they're indestructible anyways, they're not affected by TVs nor does paint seem to affect them). This probably wouldn't be as bad if I didn't have to fight the first enemies over and over before the third branch. This game was fun and a bit creepy at first but it's lost any of its charm entirely due to how pretentious the game has gotten now. | |
