^I totally see what you are saying, and what you said about friends and family and myself is true. I wouldn't be able to forgive them if they killed one of my close friends.
But I think it's fucked up how people act like no one is to blame except Marilyn Manson, DOOM, and the boys themselves. It's not like the people around them couldn't have done something which may have helped the situation.
I hate to be cheesy, but literally one person could have changed it. If one person had taken the time to really talk to them rather than just labeling them as "weirdos" or saying something like "Oh, Eric/Dylan? They're scary."
i watched an interview with Marilyn Manson where he was asked "What would you have said to the boys, if you had the chance?" and he said "I wouldn't have said anything.... I would have listened to what they had to say, because it looks like very few did that."
What the kids did was totally fucked and even if they both had fucking Schizophrenia, it's not an excuse to go try and blow up your school. But I definitely think the thing could have been prevented, or at least defused a bit if people didn't treat them like psychopaths.
And yes, they were into bombs/guns before all of it happened. But maybe instead of automatically assuming they were crazy, someone with similar interests (guns. not bombs) could have somehow found a way to befriend them and let them know that there are better ways to let out aggression than shooting someone in the face, and there are safe/legal ways to own guns.
