| Currently playing zero mission.
Alright is quite fun although i feel like none of the monsters in the game really match up to samus. Its more the way they move they seem kinda lame. Anyway now i'm in the later half of the game i'm finding it a lot more fun. They got the really dubious power ups of things like high jump, ledge grab, freeze shot (so you can use enemies to jump on), aside from having to unlock these skills its all been alright i just can't stand how badly samus moved before the ledge grab and high jump were implemented. This game has a really odd idea of where you fall off a ledge and its not inutitive and you need to be precise due to the terrible jumping. sometimes you'll be on a ledge thats about as wide as samus and you need to do a running jump off it. I think thats poor level design there's only like 3 jumps like that but there very annoying as there often in parts where you shouldn't have gone. Which means your health is too low and chances are an invincible enemy is blocking the way.
The bosses are very old school and i like them, way too easy though. The only hard bit is working out where invisible blocks might be hiding a secret and thats in quite a lot of places. But i'm not a fan of random shooting to unearth those kinda things. Mind i don't really need the power ups so i'll probably skip those bits anyways.

| keyboards are a little hard to diagonal-aim without your computer blocking the keys, since you have to hold one to aim, hold one to move, press one to jump, and press one to fire. during boss fights it is not fun for a stickykeys message to come up and interrupt the game--or worse, NOT interrupt the game and get you killed while your addressing the popup. | |

| In the GBA Metroid games you can hold the 'L' button to shoot diagonally, you don't need to hold up and right/left at the same time. That means three buttons at once which most keyboards that aren't total shit can handle. | |

keyboards are a little hard to diagonal-aim without your computer blocking the keys, since you have to hold one to aim (L button), hold one to move (right/left), press one to jump (A button), and press one to fire (B button). during boss fights it is not fun for a stickykeys message to come up and interrupt the game--or worse, NOT interrupt the game and get you killed while your addressing the popup. you're holding two keys down if your diagonal-aiming and moving, three for the space of firing while diagonal-aiming, and if you time it right (wrong, actually) you're holding four keys for the space of jumping while firing while idagonal-aiming--causing the computer to say WOAH WOAH SLOW THE FUCK DOWN MAN while youre like SHIT SHIT DAMMIT POPUPS GET OUT OF THE WAY and samus is like OH GOD WHY CANT I MOVE NO THE TENTACLES ARE TEARING OFF MY ARMOR

| Would be cool if you could set up a PS3 controller to work on the computer since you can USB plug it in. | |

What's stopping you getting an emulator? Nothing but not having a computer of my own. Which should be fixed next paycheck. I have a Controller that I used to play emulators with. It's at my old house. It wants to be a Playstation controller aside from being a bit stiff it works very well especially for platformers. The anolog sticks are square, I always found that strange but it works. Metriod fusion was my favorite Metriod btw. But I miss Zero mission.

i use a 360 controller with joytokey to play my emulated games--i prefer a usb PS2 conrtoller though, it's easier to work with in JTK

| Alright fusion seems way more interesting already. Completed Zero mission fairly effortlessly but found the controls clunky. Also the game seemed to be more about hitting the boss more tiems while he's hitting you then any kind of dodging elements. As there were really anyways to effectively dodge a couple of the bosses but if your a aim is good you can take them out anyways.
Anyway i'm hoping fusion involves more skill i've only just played it a little

| Well, at the time I'm sure it seemed a lot harder than it was. Bearing in mind I would have been like 12 when I played it. | |

| Fusion is a much better game imo and has parts that are actually quite difficult. Still worth playing Zero Mission first though as it's the 'root' of the franchise or at least a remake of it. | |

| Flying through this i got past all six sectors, took me a while to work out whedr to go after that as i had to run through a wall. How do people like that type of gameplay mechanic with essential routes being hidden, its kinda annoying. All round this is soooooo much better then zero.
Can't wait to face off against SA-X.

| You must play Metroid Prime. It's way better than any other game of the series. | |

| I'll probably get the collection for my nephew on his wii and check em out then. These are emant to be classics thought I might as well check out the series besides there short.
Do they still have stupid hidden sections in them. I hate having to shoot walls randomly.
Anyway killed a spider and i think there's a plant boss coming up.
