Has the western RPG finally earned its place?

Just thinking about it,this gen the only JRPG thats good is Valkyria chronicles and i didn't think of this as a JRPG except a couple of weird characters who show up namely the androgynous nobodies in your squad and the awkward romance.

Whereas the Western RPGs have Mass Effect, Fallout, Oblivion, Dragon Age, which i haven't played all of but i will probably eventually get when i feel like i got the time, but they all look way more fun (although VC is probably one of my fave games this gen).

I think there's still a market for good JRPGs, it's just that we've seen a downturn in quantity the past couple of years. I daresay there are still hundreds of them released in Japan that don't see the light of day over here.

Tales of Vesperia for PS3 is generally considered to be the best JRPG of this gen, but unless you can read Japanese, or have played its inferior 360 version, you won't be able to understand the plot.
Eternal Sonata was decent too.

Although the Tales of series is terrible so that's physically impossible.
