Some of those films are just terrible, i thought his reasoning was really stupid.

Wait, he defends the movie for two minutes then comes out with this? Seriously? He might as well just say "it's not as bad as people say, but it was still shit." You can dress it up how you like, but even as an Indy film, heck, especially as an Indy film, Crystal Skull was awful.

Out of those films, I still really enjoyed T3 (which was much better than Salvation), I quite liked Rocky 5, Gremlins and Jurasic Park... can't say I've ever sat down and bitched about them. Psycho and Halloween I've never bothered with. Spidey 3 was simply 'alright', which was the problem. It was so far below the level of the first two that it was bound to disappoint, despite not being a 'bad' film in it's own right.

I haven't actually seen Gremlins, but the general impression I've got from it is that it's more of a black comedy than an outright horror film.

Pretty much. I mean, the defining moment of the movie is where the little bastards are sitting there watching Snow White and laughing their asses off.

I loved Back to the Future (all parts).

I love the movie, but I can see why people don't like it. It's basically Scary Movie, only (a bit) better.

Gremlins 2 is great. Any film with that amount of good puppet work is a joy to watch, whether or not it's actually a good film.

Fantastic Mr Fox wasn't that great.

I thought it was tongue in cheek horror. Also a film trying to be scary and then being funny due to campness or crapiness is not a comedy, its the differencxe between laughing at someone and laughing with someone. 2 was a comedy when they realised how cheesy the first movie was.

I found nightmare on elm street funnier and friday the 13th. For all intents and purposes this was in the horror section of the video store. I considered it a B-movie type horror like the blob.

Haven't seen this in like over 20 years cause i though it was shit, but it definitely weren't a comedy.

Nightmare on Elm Street are comedies as well. Well, everything but the first two, New Nightmare and the remake. Gremlins was a comedy movie with a lot of people dying.

Dude they're considered comedies now, at the time they were horror films.

These kind of films get cult status due to there awful attempts at horror. Ina few years the saw films apart from number 1 will be considered comedies and they're certainly not.

Actually, they'll be considered bad horror movies due to them having no real humor in them. The Gremlins consisted of a lot of childish humor, laughing little imps and a few murders. It's a kids horror movie, like Poltergeist and whatever the fuck that Disney movie is with a young Sean Connery.

Saw 3 is hilarious, it has the worst 'hero' ever, unintentionally killing people a couple of times.
