I've finally fixed the video settings so the files arent like 5 gigs per section, and i got the controller setup for joytokey so i can play the games comfortably--now i just need to pick a game to actually play and record, so i'll leavie it up to you guys to pick.

another thing i've noticed is that there's a significant slowdown on the emulator when im recording, yet the video file is at full speed. I end up being able to dodge stuff much easier (at the cost of having to play a slow game) and in the video it looks like i'm flying through the game with skill and grace.

Dawn of Sorrow is a direct sequel to AoS, ecclesia is set when the belmonts have mysteriously disappeared from the earth (or have they...?) and dracula's revival is imminent, so the order of ecclesia developed magical glyphs to help combat him. you play as--pretty (VERY pretty) much--the head disciple of the order and go fight dracula.

I say go for whichever you feel like playing more
but i'll certainly pay attn to a lets play

no prob buu, but that isnt very helpful, as i want to play all of them (well, i'd prefer to play crystal chronicles with other people, since the AIs are stupid, but i dont know if theres a thing for that for desmume)

anywho, i'll post the basic plot for all of the games in case someone hasnt heard of them.


-Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - you play as Soma Cruz again and battle a cult set on the revival of 'The Lord of Darkness' (it's not dracula, surprisingly). They dont like that you didnt turn into the lord o darkness in the last game, so they want to create a new one by killing you. You infiltrate their headquarters and bring the asskicking to them--or their hordes of demons, at least.

-Megaman Star Force 3: Black Ace - You play as Geo Stellar again, and as with all battle network/star force games, everyone in the entire world forgets that you single-handedly saved the world's ass last year. this time a very large red meteor made of EM noise (basicly electrical interference given substance) is headed straight for the planet and its up to you to save the earth *again* because everyone else is incompetent. this game also introduces a character named Ace--He's a total bro and resembles a certain manga character of the same name...

-Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift - the same premise of the previous game--boy is transported to the world of Ivalice via magic book. the major difference is shown right away in this though, as this one isnt about how escapism is bad and can ruin your life (though admittedly, there's more to it than that, but i digress). this game stresses friendship and comeraderie more than actually angsting about getting home. in the game you can battle monsters, other clans, evil organizations, otherworldly towers, and even own the entire world!

-Pokemon Platinum/Soul Silver - it's pokemon. 'nuff said.

-Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - this game is set in a world where the belmonts have mysteriously disappeared from the face of the earth earth (or have they...?) and dracula's revival is imminent, so the order of ecclesia developed magical glyphs to help combat him. you play as--pretty (VERY pretty) much--the head disciple of the order and kick your former partner's ass for betraying the order and stealing your memories--THEN go fight dracula.

-Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon - prince's lands get attacked by an ally, cue him building a rag-tag army and reconquering his homeland. same as most other fire emblems--after all, this game, or rather the original version of this game, STARTED that premise for the series.

-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time - this one's a little hard to explain without giving anything really juicy away other that you and up to three others work together to save the world--and time itself--from an evil mastermind. the story is surprisingly touching for a CC game.

i was thinking of adding another game to the list, but maybe i'll do this once i finish the first. heres teh title and summary:

Sands of Destruction - In Sands of Destruction, a race of powerful beastmen known as the Ferals rule over the human population with tyranny and prejudice. A group of warriors, the World Annihilation Front, believe their only option for ending the corruption of the Ferals is to end the world as they know it.

so it's like a typical jrpg, only backwards.

dunno. havent played it or read any wiki's/FAQs for it.

i'm borrowing a headset from prpl, so i'll be able to record and deliver my beautiful voice to you in the form of improvised and forgetful post-commentary. i'll be using audacity for the actual voice recording, and windows movie maker to assemble the videos.

and the reason i'm doing a post-commentary is because of the earlier mentioned slowdown when i record the game. since i have to play about 20-30 minutes for a 10 minute clip of actual gameplay, i'd be recording 20-30 minutes of audio for 10 minutes of video if i were doing a live commentary--which i dont feel like recording or editting that much audio.

I'm going to be spending the majority of the weekend at prpl's house, so i'm leaving the voting deadline open until late sunday/early monday morning. as soon as the votes are taken at that point i'll begin working on the first section of whatever game was chosen.
