FE10 is quickly becoming my most disliked Fire Emblem.

I've hit more than 20 game overs by now due to the fucking terrible conditions.

"Durr hurr don't let any of your units die while we throw you up against or so units, all of which can kill two of your units in one attack."
"Durr hurr let's make it an escape mission for the next 3 chapters 2 of which require your weakest units to make it to the exit."
"Durr hurr let's respawn enemies over and over to make the already annoying enemies even more annoying."
"Durr hurr let's throw a paladin and several knights in the third chapter so you become completely fucked and are forced to learn the quick save option."

Please tell me the game stops becoming this because my enthusiasm is quickly being killed thanks to this.

EVERYONE HAS TO LIVE, including the units I'm supposed to put at the front lines.

The only powerhouse I have is Sothe and even he can only take so much abuse.

No, I'm fairly decent at these games.

But every fucking loss condition up til now has been.

"Don't let any units die."

Now this wouldn't be a problem, IF I WASN'T STILL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME!

Soldiers spawn constantly, all of your units excluding Sothe and Nolan have awful defense (especially magic users), however you must move these magic users along throughout the stage to beat the level, so you are forced to put them in harm's way as soldiers will spawn at the beginning point if you take too long. You're supposed to use Sothe to deal with the more heavy duty units but even he can't pick up the slack on them. So you're forced to use the quick save option and pray to god an attack misses one character so they don't die, because if they do, THEN IT'S GAME OVER AND YOU GET TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!

It gets even worse in Chapter 3 when you get a very powerful magic user who, once again, has atrocious defense and seeing as there's an extremely mobile mounted character in this level she is necessary to dish out more than half of his health and be efficient, HOWEVER, there are so many enemies in this level and the mounted unit does so much damage it's an enormous risk using her.

It all comes down to luck, something a STRATEGY role-playing game should not do.

Alright fuck this, I'll play it at some other point because this is just ridiculous.

u normally use that to my advantage and mob there unit before they get me
i don't think i ever lose a unit in fire emblem bar the times i get wiped out

You can't mob units that already outnumber you.

also rememebr to check houses sometimes extra units or helpfu items pop up

as i haven't played it can't think of anything else you could do

None of these have popped up within the first three chapters.

it's easier if you use a completed save data from path of radiance, since all the units from that game that you eventually get have their old (and usually quite high) levels and stats.

though i had little trouble in the begining of FE10 because i outright refused to use sothe unless it was an emergency (NEVER rely on a jeigan character in FE games. you'll only regret it later) to let my other units grow, and most of the girl's story was a cakewalk in the frst place, since you get THE MOTHERFUCKING BLACK KNIGHT on your team after a while.

I've gone through FE10 three times. Haven't had any trouble. I suppose I've gone through all these games too much for me to have too much trouble anymore though. You gotta find some good people to train and just train them. Like for Micaiah's team, Leonardo and Aran are the two best I can find. Edward can turn out to be a great unit, but you have three other Trueblade potentials. Usually with the Shinon/Rolf situation, it's best to train one of them so you can have Leo and Shinon/Rolf. Aran>Nephenee>Danved easily so he's the best Sentinel in the game.

Ike's team is the best though. You got amazing options in every single character. Ike trains himself and gets incredible. Soren is the best Archsage in the game, Oscar and Titania are great Gold/Silver knights (Though I prefer Kieran over all them). Boyd is a great Reaver provided he doesn't get SP screwed. I usually drop Rolf altogether and go for Shinon who is one of the best units in the game. Gatrie is the best Marshall, Mia has potential for best Trueblade, Mist can be a great unit depending on how well she gets blessed/screwed.

So yeah, you have great options in FE10. You just have to know where to look. IMO, the best of each class are...

Marshall: Gatrie
Sentinel: Aran
Pegasis User: Elincia
Dracomaster: Haar
Trueblade: Stefan/Mia (Could easily go either way)

Tiger: Muarim
Wolf: Nailah
Hawk: Tibarn
Raven: Neseala
Cat: Ranulf (Caps most if not all stats)
Lion: Caineghis
Dragon: Nasir
Whisper: Sothe/Heather (Depends)

Can't remember the rest of the classes. If I think of them, I'll edit the post.

personally i prefer nephenee over aran--she was an unstoppable war-goddess for me in PoR, and i kept her that way for RD

If you liked PoR, you'll probably like this too. Some chapters are a bit tough, but you'll usually have some OP units to help you.
