Okay, so you don't understand and I don't know how to explain it.

What I can say is, just like years ago when I used to just flip through channels and watch anything that was remotely funny, usually a cartoon or a sitcom, I now do the same but on my computer, streaming anime. There is ONE reason though, and that is just for the sake to relieve my boredom.

but what i don't get is comedy is a genre where you have to be in tune with that culture, hell if i watch friends occasionally a joke or reference comes up and i have no fucking clue what the joke actually is

i can't help but think this would be the case with japanese comedy, hell when i played yakuza 2 which kept in japanese jokes i had no fucking clue what was meant to be funny, watching one piece you'll notice theres a shit load of jokes that are based around luffy mishearing a japanese sound

being explained a joke simply isn't funny

me and nonny find some of these british comedies hilarious, i'm not really sure the american take on these, but the comedy within the shows are entirely different to anything you guys are watching so i'm not really sure if to you they'd even seem funny

and i know animes do parodies but fuck they do parodies out of parodies totally sucking out any originality in going down that line of humour
