| There are so many zombie survival games based in modern times that fighting zombies with guns isn't all that scary anymore. On top of that, having zombies in older settings like Egypt or the Middle Ages gives it more of a "necromancy" feeling... again, making it less scary and closer to "Sweet! Dark forces are at hand!"
What I'd like to see is a new zombie survival series based in Colonial/Napoleanic times. Muskets are the norm, ammunition is low and slow to reload, swords are significantly less common (and even then, who wants to melee fight a zombie?), and you MUST shoot them in the head.
Add to that the poor lighting and communication technologies of the time and you have a good atmospheric basis to reintroduce "horror" into the Horror genre.
What do you guys think? | |

| i like the idea
slight problem with the musket by the time you reload consdering you don't want melee
the person would be fucked if there was more then 1 zombie

| Unless you could, I dunno, Run while reloading.
...But I'd guess that'd be a problem. So, How about just picking up a different musket and using that and then having to find yet another oe and....oh wait, I see the flaw, You'd have to constantly RUN from the zombies just to stay alive long enough to find the next musket. Ofcourse, There's always the sword....If you're feeling really screwed but don't want to necessarily give up.

| You should be a game devolper for that idea.
I mean yeah they'd have a tough time to kill having to wait 5 minutes everytime you reload your fucking Musket.

I mean yeah they'd have a tough time to kill having to wait 5 minutes everytime you reload your fucking Musket. Hence my drop and pick up idea. It kills the reload time completely, But then you're pretty much melee/fleeing for most of the time. Ofcourse, There can also be the pistol equivalent. The pistol that Jack Sparrow had. Some of those thrown in might work too. But I guess you can try to deal with the 5 minute reload time by hiding somewhere until you're done. I forget what game did this one, But I've always wondered why zombies never did this. This one game for the X-box (I think) had zombies or some other kind of creatures that, If hungry enough after not eatting flesh for a while, Would actually turn cannibal and eat their own kind. Why hasn't any other game done this?

| first of all u could steal horses so u can ride and scape or use em for attack or have bow beside ur musket and maxreload time for musket is less than 1 min u could have armor too and herbs like medicine (resident evil) or difrent mele attack like group attack in The Witcher 1
and zombie ate and killed diffrent kind of zombie who were wounded or simply weaker
also u can make ur hero get mutated power after variously infected and used diffrent kind of herbs

I don't really travel but i thought stuff was cheaper in some countries. Haven't I showed you Australian prices before? I thought prices were made according to taxes, average and such. I mean is cost of living in Australia less then here, so luxury items end up being more. I never really thought about how prices were affected, but i assuemed something must be coming into account. Games here are more expensive now then last year as VAT has gone up to 20%

| I refuse to believe that import taxes can increase the price of a game by more than 100% of what a country with a weaker currency (USA) pays. | |

Oh so import taxes effect game prices? Now that makes more sense. That said if a country has a weaker currency then you i'm not suprise they pay less. When the pound was really strong we definitely were paying way more then a the US.

| I have no idea if it's import taxes, I'm just saying there's no way any charges would increase the price that much.
We paid double even when the US dollar was stronger than ours too so I have no trouble believing that prices in Iran could be ridiculous. There's no logic to it, it's just bullshit regional pricing trying to screw more money out of people.

| Unfortunately for you guys the gaming industry doesn't adjust to the fluxations of the global economy. When the times that you're currency is stronger than ours actually makes you pay more for them since most world wide prices reflect that of the US prices, regardless of current exchange rates. | |

| it's not about being poor or living in poor country it's about u can have normal life in a country like mine with 500 $ per month and avrage people won't pay 350 $ for a ps3 and 50-100$ for each game when they can get that for pc or other platform with just 1-5 $ and there is some odd tax laws like 300% tax for forign cars and that's a total stupidity but of course there are a lot of corrupt politician and businessman who spend oil money thay can afford to buy ps3 or Ferrari for their kids ) | |

Please note, my knowledge of Iran beyond the 1950s is nil. Actually you are right (partly) we have access to internet but asyou said faceboook, youtube, twitter, porn site's, satanic site's , political site ,ETC are banned. we could access'em through proxys but they even filltered ports like 443,8888,8080,etc now we can just use VPN to access . but that don't do much good because even dsl internets are slow and expensive and for more than 3GB traffic per month we have to pay aditional 5 US Dollar for each GB so few use fast internet service at home ) fortunately this forum isn't banned though partly censored
