| seriously the graphics are great the autolock in combat is much improved
browsing through the manual the new features sound cool apparently you cna learn extra combat moves by taking pics on your camera for inspiration not done this yet but the idea sounds cool (when i saw this in the trailer i kinda assumed you didn't actually do this yourself)
its also good to see kazuma isn't completely nerfed at the beginning of the game this time also there is a brilliant recap in the game explaining stories from 1 and 2
only problem i have is that its kinda hard to recognise a couple of people during the shift from PS2 to PS3 i mean kazuma actually isn't much older and stuff but they made him look different
any questions feel free to ask also in uk you get pieces of DLC 2 of them sound really good, 2 of them sound decent but nothing super amazing, unfortunately i need to complete the game to use them so can't really comment on them
i'm playing on hard, i refuse to use healing items in this game so at the end of chapter 1 i got my ass kicked on the retry though when i stopped being rusty i kicked ass seriously great game as always the pacing in the beginning is a huge amount of story compared to game but i know that will change soon, just because the storyline is complex they needed to set things up

| It really is a fantastic game. I wished I had not imported the Japanese release last year though. It really spoiled the game for me. I was pretty fired up to play the game in a language I comprehend, only to notice a lot of things were missing compared to the copy I already owned. It's doubtful I would've missed anything if I hadn't actually played both releases.
I just hope that enough people give this game a chance, so maybe Sega won't give up on us. It's one of the better games I have played over the past couple of years, it is just a shame it isn't getting any real hype. To Sega's credit though, there have been a lot of ads for the game around the internet lately, which pleases me.

| Yeah thats the thing as i never played the full version
the cuts have had no effect on me as i just look at this and think it still has way more then the average game in it
only if i get a definite no for future releases will i import but i'm more then happy to do that as its easy enough to go from A to B in this game and the fighting engine is what i really love

| Importing, for me, is a catch-22. It's cool to have the game a year early and in its complete form, but not speaking Japanese only allows me to get so far into the story, and some of the time I just have to make assumptions on my own. Originally, I thought Yakuza 3 was not going to arrive in the west, so I imported it. Shows what I know.
The funny thing about that is because FFXIII turned out to be so paint-by-numbers, I didn't actually have any issues what was going on there at all. I always new the score.

| i'm guessing most of the side missions would be really hard and tedious to complete without speaking japanese
theres enough prompts in game for you to get away with it i think though

| I have decided that this will be the game that tides me over until July....Because that is when Hokuto Musou comes to stateside and it SHALL come stateside or I will bomb Koei US for being incompetant cunts! | |

I never got stuck doing anything I tried to do except for the hostess conversations. The main reason I ever had to read over ThePatrick's guide was for plot purposes, if I thought I missed the point (which in several cases was true). I pick up on some words here and there, but 99% of it's beyond my understanding. I wasn't going to import 4, but as it turns out I had pre-ordered it awhile ago from Play-Asia and forgot, then the butchering of 3's localization occured, so I just decided to roll with it and not cancel the import. The demo was pretty fun, if you haven't checked it out yet. The new minigames (ping pong, YES!) are neat, and I am glad to see Pachinko in there as well. The graphics are a definitely improvement. Everything looks so much more amazing when it's raining.

| oh that makes sense
i guess with side missions effectively an icon will appear over someone will appear to help you out i mean i basically run around looking around for fights and incidentally help people out anyways (i always run around drunk in this)
importing is probably worth it but, if it comes out soon you might wanna have complete this version before then
on the plus side even if you did import you have got the DLC which will be new content for you
and i'm really looking forward to the majima tag fights

| Well, Played this on my cousin's PS3. Got to the part where I have to find Saki.
...I love the whole story and everything, But I just wish some random punk would just come out of nowhere and fight me. So far, I've had to do story fight after story fight. -_- That's not how Yakuza 1 was! I actually remember yelling at my TV "For fuck's sake! Quit coming after me!"

| I liked the orphanage angle the game had. It made me respect and like Kiryu that much more because I saw his as a good guy, not just an ex-yakuza. Some people may question the depth of the third game, but I really liked it. | |

| i think he's one of the most detailed characters around
i mean most the time you don't even know what a character thinks
but often they show you what he thinks of a situation
the fact i've spent like 12 hours and i'm only on chapter 4 (and not even bothered with mini games just shows how much there is to do)

| 4 is better than 3 in almost every way, so you'll definitely enjoy it. My only complaint about 4 was that the story got utterly ridiculous after part 3. Dead Souls' gameplay is weak, but if you're a fan of the series you're still going to like it.
Has Sega announced Yakuza 5's localization yet? I can't wait to play it.
