It's been ages since I played an RPG. How does this one work? Is it the typical class stuff?

There are three main classes, Soldier, Engineer, Adept. Soldier is geared for out and out fighting, Engineers are your hacking/unlocking class, and Adepts are mages in all but name. There are a further three classes which are a combination of two of the three main classes. Each of them requires a different skill set, and each is different enough from the other that each playthrough is different. At least, that was the case with ME1.

Just finished the main story, 37 hours in four days...damn you Bioware, you stole my life!
Anyway, great game. It's so vast an improvement on the first in so many ways that it seems almost churlish to nitpick. I'd love to rave on and on about it, but I guess that'd be kinda pointless; afterall, I know 360 owners here are rarer than rocking horse poo. Suffice to it, it's one of the best games I've ever played and knocks Dragon Age: Origins (which was tied for my favourite game last year) into a pointy hat.
Awesome.
Now, to play it again...

Are the sex scenes better or are they gone altogether?

I didn't really like the human romance interest this time around, so I got funky with Tali. There was no nudity at all, you just see her jump on you on bed, and her trademask mask (which she can die without) on the floor.
In any case, that was less cringe worthy than the stiffly animated sex in Dragon Age.

If you play as a dwarf, I heard you can get a gay scene.

That's like, 9 hours a day Simian. Don't you have a job and partner and stuff?

Yeah, the game arrived Thursday and the other half was at work Thursday night (that is 5 to roughly 11), Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday, and I wasn't working the weekend, so I had plenty of free time.
I'm a sucker for RPGs, I always clock up silly hours in them. Hell, i spent 100+ playing Dragon Age, and ME2 is significantly better than that.

Is anything like that in the sequel. And does it lead into sexual situations?

The same reporter pops up in ME2, and yes, you can smack her again if you so wish. You can alos headbutt people, push them out of skyscrapers and behave like an ass in general if the mood takes you.

Well, That would be more than enough reason for me to get that game....If I had a better PC.

Yeah, but the game is crazy good. My game of the year in January...? Don't bet against it.

I think I'm in the mood for an RPG about now, but I'm not sure whether to get White Knight Chronicles or something like this. The only reason I even know about WKC is because it's from Level 5, who made my favourite RPG to date. ME would be something new though.

What are the combat and leveling systems in ME like?

While it's not necessary, I recommend playing ME before ME2. Obviously, ME2s story is a direct continuation of MEs, and ME2 is so vastly superior in terms of gameplay mechanics (not to mention graphics, art design, level design...) that to play ME afterwards would probably feel like a bit of a chore.
The levelling system in both games is markedly different though, and opinion is split on whichis the better. ME handled things like a typical RPG, in that most everything you do gives you exp, be it killing things or hacking a computer for information. ME2 only gives you EXP upon completion of a mission, and that experience is capped so killing 100 enemies might only give the same as killing ten. The actual task of levelling is very similar, though the advancement of skills is different again. In ME, each skill had around twelve points needed to max it out, with each increment steadily increasing the effectiveness of its related skill. Every third or fourth point would unlokc either an upgrade for that power (throw becomes heavy throw for instance), or a new power entirely. ME2 each skill only has four points and there are fewer skills per character, typically four per character, though your Shepard (the MC) can have seven or eight. To allocate a point in ME2, you need one point spare for the first slot, two for the second, three for the third, and four points to open the last slot. It takes ten skill points to max each skill. At that juncture, you're given the choice of evolving the power one of two ways, though that usually means choosing between a single target heavy damage power, or targeting a group with medium damage.
It's also worth noting that in ME, the level cap was Level 50 (upgraded to Sixty for subsequent plays), while ME2 knocks it down to thirty, essentially meaning that level ups are less common but more effective when they happen.
In terms of equipment, ME has the usual RPG gubbins, upgraded weapons, armour and accesories, while ME2 largely does away with an inventory; armour is only upgraded by finding new parts, and you can only find weapons that you take from your enemies. There are typically three or four different kinds of each weapon in ME2, compared with at least a dozen in ME.
Some people have argued that ME2s system is too restrictive, but I find it tailors in quite nicely with differentiating the squad as all their individual abilities are largely unique and you need to pick and choose your squad carefully going into a mission. In truth, ME2 feels less obviously like an RPG than ME did, largely because the actual shooting/cover mechanics are now so strong and much of the RPG aspect of combat itself is now done behind-the-scenes, so you're totally unaware of it.
Again though, ME was a very good game, despite its well publicised flaws (the horribly dull side missions, the loading times, and most noticably the wait for textures to load... half the time you'd be talking to a character and their face would load in stages throughout the conversation. That said, installing the game to the 360s hard drive did eliminate 99% percent of that issue.) ME2 is unquestionably a much stronger game, despite the arguments over whether or not it should now be classed as a shooter with RPG elements rather than an RPG with shooter elements.

me neither
i do like tactical shooters though mind this isn't one >_>
but it does the good bitd of RPGs well i.e. character customisation and weapons + weapon customisation
and leaves out the lamer i.e. turn based battles, random encounters and it isn't completely linear

Turn based combat I can live with. What I hate is games that have some kind of time limit in the combat system. Like you only get so much time to make a move or you have to wait a certain amount of time between moves and all that shit. Just do real time or turn based damn it, don't try to mix them together.
Although I didn't actually mind it so much in Eternal Sonata, but then again the fights were piss easy so it didn't make much difference.
