seriously what is wrong with this gen

i mean no local multiplayer on the majority of games

seriously its just stupid
the 360 and ps3 were catered to ppl with no friends
and that kinda puts ppl off owning one >_>

It's not the consoles, more the games.

sony could encourage local multiplayer

but it seems they just want to go with online

hmm, now that I think about it, every one of my games that has any kind of multiplayer, has both online and local. Which games are you thinking of?

I wasn't aware that online multiplayer games lacked local multiplayer.

Yeah, I was wondering myself. Oblivion maybe? But that shit sucks anyway.

Burnout Paradise lacked local multiplayer. That's the only one I can think of.

MGS4 has an online 'multiplayer' (if that counts)

dont blame the system blame the people who make th games.

well racing games were the most largely nerfed
call of duty had no local multiplayer (except 2-player versus which is kinda shit) nor did half life
uncharted 2 is another co-op online no local, saints row 2

resistance did have a decent co op offline campaign but was seriously nerfed because you could heal each other infinitely, which made the game a walk in the park even on the highest difficulties

most of the games i can think of if not all of them don't really have any kind of local multiplayer even if they bothered to put in a online multiplayer

for some reason a lot of the FPS games have a versus mode but you can't even put in bots so this renders a versus match kinda dull as you kinda just walk round and try to sneak up on the other

not sure if any of you are time splitters fans but that was a well thought out multiplayer game it also did support online

so really the multiplayer options on ps3 are generally sport games or band games
this is also the reason i'll always be getting basically any warriors game that comes out

Yeah, Time Splitters sounds like the PS2 version of Perfect Dark. (I've never played TS, So I wouldn't know.) Perfect Dark allowed 2 players to either co-op through the story mode, Or have one player be the hero and the other one be one of the badguys in said story mode. It also had the Multiplayer Arena mode. (VS, etc.) But you could throw in bots of all kinds and either go it alone against/with the bots, Or have player 2 join in as either friend or foe.

Perfect Dark was too badass to be an N64 game, And yet Only Time Splitters apparently did the same thing, With Killzone close behind (That game was also fun)
