Can someone help me out with oblivion?

I started up the game and they ask me to choose a race and shit

it looks like i could fuck up from the moment i start
can anyone help me out?

The perks are...

Imperial = Has speech spells to charm people (I never use this class)
Redguard = Has "natural" immunities to poisons and such and also has a Rage mode. (I use this class on occasion)
Lizard Thing (I forget the name.) = Can breath underwater and also has immunity to poisons.
Bretan (My fave class) = The Master of Magic
Cat Thing (Also forget the name) = Has Night-eye and can run fast

The elves I never even touched. >_> Same with the Orc. Although the Dark Elf can summon a ghost.

oh yeah, The Wood Elf, They can use a spell to get animals to help them. Ofcourse, There are no animals in The Oblivion Realm (That's the name of the game's version of Hell.), So, Yeah, You'd be relying on your own self (Which isn't too bad if you're good with the bow and can do shit tons of damage with said weapon.)

Yeah, Well, A Vampiric Bretan can be awesome as well. Vampiric Strength AND Bretan's Magical Abilites = One Badass Motherfucker.

i was considering being that

but i wanted to be an archer + thief
so wood elf was the sensible choice with thief birth sign

I went for Redguard, for no real reason that I can recall. After 150+ hours, I didn't fancy going through it all again! Vampires FTW! Oh, and you must do the Dark Brotherhood quests, triggered when you commit your first murder / accidental killing of a civilian. They're the best in the game.

And you pretty much need the guild for fencing whatever stolen shit you're carrying. The "good stores" won't buy stolen shit (However the hell they find out it's stolen is beyond me!)

yeah i noticed that except i got caught with basically anything decent in most of the first couple of towns

and the game doesn't replace shit >_>

From memory you can resist arrest? Just run away.

yeah i was being a noob at the time though so i just took the prison sentences

Ahh I see. You might already know this, but when you finish the Thieves Guild quest line you get a mask that prevents you from losing karma (or whatever the good/bad points are called) when you wear it.

i usually go into castles and jack all there wine

I forgot a class.

The Nord = Basically The Orc, Just resistant to Frost.

And the cat things are called "Khajiit" & the lizards are "Argonians"
