Who's seen it, who wants to see it, and who else is fucking tired of hearing how "great" it is and has no intention of fucking seeing it despite all the fucking hype and insistance that it's great?

Director of Titanic =/= Greatness
I only found the second half of Titanic to be great. And that was just because shit was getting torn apart and fucked up.

You do know he's also the director of the first two Terminator movies, Aliens and some other awesome flicks. His greatness isn't just based on Titanic. It was a sure fact that Avatar was going to be good. It's not like it's overrated or anything, it's just hyped up and the movie apparently lives up to it based on all the critics going thumbs up on it.

I'm not gonna watch it. It looks predictable, tedious, plus it ruined /tv/ completely.

i have no idea what this film is about and i'm not gonna watch it i despise sci-fi films
also for some reason i keep expecting a human to get it on with an alien in this film not sure why but thats basically the only reason that i can think of that ppl would hype a film up this much

Havn't seen it, but I think you might be right. Although he might be in the alien 'suit' thing at the time.

His next film after Avatar is an adaptation of Battle Angel Alita.

I watched this movie. The story is nothing groundbreaking and you can predict the the entire movie after 10 minutes, but it was fun nonentheless.
I feel sad because this movie is another victim of typical internet hate because it's hyped and popular.

thats the thing a lot of films like this which appear average suddenly have an abnormal amount of hype
and honestly these days james cameron's name being on something doesn't quite get the old reaction it used to

That's probably because he hasn't directed a theatrical film in over 10 years. Plus a lot of people hate Titanic now just because it was really successful.

I rented Avatar the Game tonight, and there's a section that says the Na'vi 'mechanics of reproduction are similar to humans and other mammals, but their unique physiology provides the Na'vi with a level of intimacy unknown to Terrans'. So, they do fuck like we do.
Oh yes, and the game, despite some pretty decent graphics, is awful, as you may have suspected.

Yeah, but you need a 3d compatible TV for it to work.
To be fair, awful is perhaps too strong. It's merely average, and the story has little to do with the events of the film, at least so far.

It's a movie game. I'm not surprised.

Yeah, I usually avoid any movie tie ins, but I liked the film so much and I knew that Cameron had put a lot of effort into the game, so I had hoped a little of the film's magic had rubbed off. Meh. I've got the game for a week, so doubtless I'll finish the story mode and I can report back then if anyone still cares.

Not all movie to game titles are bad. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was fucking awesome. But then again, It didn't start as a movie game, So that helped it's awesomeness.

Avatar won the Golden Globe for best movie and Cameron won best director.
