| A normal run through or a challenge? I was thinking about redoing my fighting type challenge on Ruby but then I't'll take a while to get another fighting type. | |

| No no, it's the other fighting type you can catch. The one that evolves into Hariyama. You get it by trading a Slakoth. After that you can catch a meditite I think in the cave, then a Machop.
Also, Shroomish evolves into a fighting type.

| Yeah, water is definately the most ideal playthrough for Ruby, seeing as you'll be fighting Team Magma, which focusses heavily on Fire and Earth types. Similarly, Sapphire is a great one for a Grass playthrough, having many Water foes via Team Aqua. Emerald fights both teams, so it is more balanced than its predecessors. | |

| Wingull
EDIT: actually, screw the Pelipper evolution. The only decent-looking new move I can see is Hydro Pump and that isn't until Level 57. Besides, Pelipper looks f'ing retarded by comparison...

| if you don't want that i'll be an aron, seedot, makuhita, zangoose or a bagon.
R/S/E has some of my favorite pokemon
if you don't choose torchic, slakoth and seedot can be caught before the first gym i think. makuhita and aron right before the second gym
whatever you want to use to keep your team balanced i'm fine with any of those
