i never caught that with other anime despite my superiour demon senses, although most anime i've watched are short-lived ones (like 12, 24, 50 episodes) so maybe that's why.

I agree on the spent more on important eps though. 313 really looked glossy-like.

well in average anime they frame skip and repeat fighting moves a lot
i'm talking cross battle, if one piece has done this i haven't actually noticed
secondly a lot of anime have no frames of animation during speech
often in one piece a lot is going on in the background (most scenes on the ship will involve chopper, ussop and luffy doing something retarded)
so for me one piece looks averqage in general looks amazing in others

a lot of other have parts with questionable animation, sometimes characters looking like they were drawn in a different style altogether
