So what do you really think of GTA IV?

I think enough time has passed now for us to judge this game without clouded judgement

I weren't of a fan of it at the time and i'm not a fan of it now i'm gonna give it a 7/10
now that may seem harsh, but the extra kick in the teeth to PS3 users and the bullshit expansions because lets face it the inevitable vice city and SA will be expansions effectively >_>

either way this game is just nowhere near as fun as the old ones and duck cover system breaks the game mechanics completely, i also can't one shot cars now and that pissed me off to

also theres no seat belt option, if i know i'm gonna plow head first thruogh the window cause the cars can't handle in the rain i would put my ^$^&*iing seatbelt on >_>

also if i wanted a girlfriend they would not look like dwayne that dumbass whiney bitch, i hate the messages he leaves on the answer machine >_>

I gave it an 8, they took stuff out from the last game that I liked.

Online play is fun especially when you have everyone go on top of this building by helicopter and then sneak it out causing them to jump off to get out.

Fun game though

well it looks like at least a couplpe of ppl were less then impressed

but i think if you were new to the series this game would probably seem good still

i'll compare it to saints row 2 when i get it

The only thing i cared about was driving my car in GTA.

thats generally not a good sign considering how shit they handled

but yeah that was probably one of the more interesting bits

Oh, and getting chased by the cops. I used to love when they sent the FBI after you in Vice City.

yeah that was fun the army were generally a bit too tough though

I remember my cousin stole a tank. It was pretty cool.

vice city was cool as it had the detective cars
which were cheetahs with extra armour i think
i used to always use those on vigilante missions

Never did missions.

Just rode around in my car and killed shit.

oh vigilante mission weren' like proper mission
you literally turned on the sirens and just shot whoever was nearby (criminal)

though all round most fun in gta is to be had just destroying shit

OK, I am a little late to this topic, but I recently redid the story on the PS3 for the Trophies! I gave it an 8 because it is esentially a pretty decent game. The only think I thought it lacked was the humour of Saint's Row 2 (another game I really liked).

I have yet to complete the GTA IV DLC on the 360 (the only version I bought the extra disk for... when it was cheap). I did start TLAD but got stuck on one mission (surprisingly). Bike handling was not that great but some of the cars were halfway decent. I made a habit of collecting the "special" cars in my saves... Gracie's Pink Feltzer (!), the White Cognoscenti, Brucie's Fury, Bernie's Infernus and Playboy X's Patriot (you could get more than one of that if you were careful!).

SR2 blows this out of the water as far as i'm concerned.

I think this is BS Grand theft auto 4 is far from deep i would have respected this choice more if 3/VC/SA was at the top but definitely not 4.

Deus Ex should clearly just have been number 1

One thing is for sure. Oblivion had one deep ass world.

Actually you have a point the 1 and 2 slot should be oblivion/fallout 3

Deepest gameplay probably Deus ex tops it but oblivion and fallout 3 do well in trying to emulate that kind of experience.

i like SR 2 a lot more than i do gta 4 now

i still play san andreas every now and then though

GTA4's world wasn't what I would call deep, but it was most certainly dense. The impressive thing about it was that it felt like a real, living city. The amount of ambient dialogue and activity is kind of stunning when you actually pay attention to it.

In that respect I think it was better than Saint's Row 2. Saint's Row 2 did have one thing in its favour though... humour.

GTA IV did have the advantage of having hard to find cars that could be a challenge to find. Well, one at any rate. That was the Futo (?) GT. It came up as a normal model but was different with its Carbon Hood/Bonnet and a GT badge. As far as I know there was only one place to find the thing.

I must admit I was never entirely convinced with the dating thing in GTA IV. OK, the first occurence did tie in with the story line but after that it got a little pointless,

The mobile phone was irritating in GTA4.

Co-op in SR2 was excellent. You also could call one of your friends in game to shoot up the town with you and your homies were actually useful. Being able to call up and get a car delivered anytime you wanted was also great. The GTA code does that stupid thing where only similar cars to what you were driving seem to be around adn has been in every single 3d incarnation of the series.

Even storywise i was more interested in SR2 the shit that happens to the dude you break out of jail with is intense and completely caught me off guard in GTA4 the biggest twist was that someone you used to know wanted a sex change. I know SR2 is meant to be the game thats lets serious and immature but really sex change jokes and jokes about homosexuality like the ones in GTA4 annoyed me more.

10/10 I got the game when it came out loved it and don't regret it!

I played some Gay Tony a couple of days back, and the character models are shit. Nico handles like crap, and the gunplay is not that good, and neither was the driving.
I wasn't too impressed.
