| I didn't like it.
The first half was quite entertaining, but as soon as it got serious, it stopped being fun.

| I liked the whole film quite a bit. More than I expected to. Like I always say, it needed to be longer and better explained. I get the feeling that it would have been too, had Will Smith not starred in it. | |

I know. But does it go from an adventurous/comedic type moive into a full-blown fucking suspense thriller drama romance film or something?

| Oh. Well... yeah, kinda. The first bit is all anti-social superhero antics, then there's the bit where he cleans himself up, and then there's the bit after everything changes and it gets all serious. | |

| I just watched the extended version. It wasn't much different. 1 extra scene that didn't change the movie in any way, and I think a few more swear words.
But having watched it again, I get what the big flaw is. The change in the story is way, way too sudden, and it goes too long without explanation (it's never fully explained anyway). And because at that point the movie is still trying to be an action comedy, you have that whole unnecessary superhero fight scene. The comedy falls flat because it's based on the situation, which we know nothing about, and the action falls flat because we have no idea what teh characters motives are (that and it's just a standard action scene).
I was hoping the extended would have more actual story, but it seems all that was removed at the script stage rather than the edit. Although I know realise it wouldn't have made much difference since it's the structure that's the problem.
And I was again annoyed that after the big twist Charlize Theron's appearence totally changes, just for that big action scene. Suddenly she's got tons of eyeliner on and a completely black outfit designed to show off about as much cleavage as possible. I mean, that's not annoying in itself, it's just that it's blatantly nothing to do with the story and only happens because a producer or someone thought she should look extra sexy for the fight scene.

You mean you didn't get all that the first time around?

| Well not quite, because I like the film quite a bit, so all that just kind of blew past me the first time round. I did think it needed more explanation, but I didn't realise until I watched it again that even that wouldn't help it much. The big reveal needed to be much more gradual, and it wouldn't have been hard to do that given how much it's hinted at beforehand. | |

| This is one of the movies I thought once "I want to see it", then forgot all about it I'll hunt this down, if I don't like I'll be content at least for not owning the DVD | |

| Was a really weird transition from the comedy to the drama. Like Simian, I liked the first half only. | |

| Saw the whole movie, or I think it's the whole thing for 1:32 hour. Is there a director cut for this?
Good movie, not horrible, the second half was coming, it happens even in comedies, what I didn't like about it is how the way those separated husband and wife going near one another affects the invulnerability
I hope it doesn't get a sequel though, it's better as its own thing
