Underwater levels. They creep me out so fucking much. And I just got to one in Ninja Gaiden.

How did fare against the giant eel in Shadow of the Colossus?

I sat there twiddling my thumbs for 20 Minutes. Then I decided to be a man and just fight the thing. After then I never had a problem against it again.

I expect it'd be even harder to find ICO. Although maybe not as hard in the UK as elsewhere. Here it was re-released when SotC came out. That's the only reason I was able to buy it.

It's not that hard for me to find. i rented the game and beat it. I plan on buying it sometime.

Unfortunately, I have other things on my wish list at the moment; Gears 2, Fable 2, Little Big Planet, Tomb Raider Underworld...


I was never that taken with ICO, actually, I found it a little dull.

As for the topic, underwater levels in action usually just suck because all the controls have be changed for a short time and because it's only a short time not much attention is payed to it and the controls are never as good as the default on-land ones. The underwater levels in the first DMC were crap.

Even though there was only one underwater level in DMC, I fucking hated it.

THey usually creep me out because you're in a giant open space, no music or if there is then it's creepy, and there's this giant sea monster from hell coming after your ass.

That and my father threw me into a pool to teach me how to swim earlier when I was youngin.

There were 2 underwater levels weren't there?

Only one changed the controls entirely. The other one you were just walking underwater with the regular controller killing flying skulls.

I have the demo to it from an OPM disc. It's pretty decent.

Everyone hates the Zelda water temples

Probably because A) they always had the most fucking awkward designs possible, and B) swimming in Zelda games has always sucked massive balls...

Hell no, the Water Temple in OoT was one of the best in the game.

I hate underwater levels.

My dad finished the SM64 level where you had to grab the star from the eel's back, because I was shitting my pants.

I DID finish the eel battle in SotC myself though.

its because in old games water levels meant
a level that was at 1/4 speed and then you ran out of oxygen if you misswed a jump
