What's your favorite James Bond 007 movie (if you watch any)...

Mine would be either From Russia with Love, For Your Eyes Only, Goldeneye, or Casino Royale (the 2006 version starring Daniel Craig).

Casino Royale definately takes top slot. Still, I also hold Goldfinger, Goldeneye, and The Man With The Golden Gun in high regard (the gold theme completely unintentional... >_>).

The Man with the Golden Gun is good too. Scaramanga is still one of the most respected and feared villains in the 007 series.

I remembered all the times when people thought Casino Royale (2006) was going to suck because of Daniel Craig and all, but... I think they sorely misjudged the movie, which is their loss.

For a long time, my mom thought that either Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman should've been 007. Well, in the Special Features on the DVD edition, those two actually did try for the role... but they were not chosen. Guess they saw something in Craig that'd stand out like how Roger Moore stood out, I guess.

It wasn't made traditionally, that's true. But eventually, the series had to change at some point, or the series wouldn't be so popular anymore. And now, it looks like they'll try that with the new one in November.

Casino Royale was written by Ian Flemming, actually, except for the 2006 edition, Eon Productions had to modernize the story, characters, and so on. The ones who remained intact to an extent were 007, Vesper Lynd, and Le Chiffre. Of course I thought that making Judi Dynch play as M would be like a time paradox, since the older ones were played by Bernard Lee.

but yeah i thought it seemed a little silly having M as Judi Dench they could've just got a look-a-like for M i'm sure there's loads of old people who would've loved to play the part

And I liked Goldeneye, From Russia With Love and Die Another Day the best.

I thought Casino Royale was lame and I'm not fond of Daniel Craig.

Even so, Judi Dench does fine as M, and she'll be M again in the later one, too.

Goldeneye and Die Another Day for me. I also liked the song of the latter.

Going back on topic, there hasn't been a day that a lot of us didn't wish we were James Bond.

Wrong series, Chrona. Goldmember is from the Austin Powers series, and I liked the first two Austin Powers movies about 200% better than that monstrosity of a movie.

This is interesting. Apparently, the most common Bond movies that people here like the most are From Russia With Love, Man with the Golden Gun, Live and Let Die, and Casino Royale.

You forgot that Man with the Golden Gun has Christopher Lee (Count Dooku, Saruman, and Dracula (early Hammer horror films)). Great actor, he is.
