and time consumption varies from person to person if you just want story i don't think it is that long |

If you just play the story, False. The story is only about 40 hours.
However, if you want to level to 9999, max your characters bonus points, defeat Prinny Baal and clear all the extra maps, then you could easily see yourself playing for 1000 hours. |

| I thought so. Baal from Nippon Ichi was not, at least I don't think he was, ever known as a Devil King. Only a Supreme Overlord and Tyrant.

It gets harder, the more you have. It's especially annoying, because the Ambling Pirate spawns, like, 85% of the time regardless of what floor your on. Fucker.
The Red Pirates seem to have the lowest spawn chance (at least for me it does), so the y were the last map I obtained. |

Eh... They are nothing special. Axel is just a more durable, yet slower version of Adell (Higher HP, Def, and Res, but lower SPD and I think ATK, not sure) and Fubuki is pretty much the same as the ninja girl (forgot her name, zam). I, personally, didn't recruit Axel simply because I prefer to call him on his cell phone and have him show up, so his theme music will play on the map.
There is also Kurtis, but meh... |

| what determines their level? i remember encountering a level 9999 pirate and i think it was the ambling pirate.
the average enemy level was around 2000-3000 i think |

Each pirate group has a different level multiplier. The Ambling Pirate has a x8 level multiplier, which means his level will be 8 times higher then the average enemy level on the current floor. If the average enemy level is 2000 or higher, he will always show up at level 9999.
The Z Pirate has the highest multiplier of x30. |
