The wait makes P4 that much sweeter, really. For me, anyway. Waiting for this game has been very... peaceful.

How is the whole cast the same?

That tough guy in P4 is basically Shinjiro.
Yusuke(?) is Junpei with red hair.

If I actually gave a damn about the other P4 character's names, I'd post the more.

Well Yosuke and Junpei are very alike I'll give you that.

Persona: Take-Mikazuchi, Rokuten-Maō of the Emperor Arcanum

A male delinquent with a bright-blonde/silver, swept-back, crewcut who has a scar above his left eye, many piercings, metal jewelry, and wears a black sweater with a skull-and-crossbones design on it under his school uniform. He uses brute force in combat, using weapons such as steel chairs and shields. He apparently gets into a lot of fights in the streets. He also attends Yasogami High. His mother runs a dyehouse in their home with Amagi's family being their acquainted customer, Kanji is skilled with tailoring for this reason.

His Persona is Take Mikazuchi of The Emperor Arcanum, which, like Kanji, is a large, imposing figure with a skeleton-like design exterior. He uses electric spells and physical attacks. Once The Emperor Social Link is completed, Take-Mikazuchi will evolve into Rokuten Maō.

Kanji's Mayonaka TV dungeon is a men's bathhouse. His Shadow is a mostly nude version of himself surrounded in a bed of roses while holding two Mars symbols. It represents his questioning his true sexuality and being unsure of the opposite sex, as the sensitive side under his rough exterior is often gone unappreciated and even ridiculed by girls. Kanji's true sexual orientation remains debatable among fandom, but the game strongly suggests that he is gay or bisexual. After he joins the protagonist's crew, his sexuality is occasionally made fun of due to the form his Shadow takes. He's also kissed by Kuma when the gang visits a club at Gekkokaun as part of the Ojao-Sama Game (kind of like a mix between Simon Says and Truth or Dare). His possible interest is in the masculine (or maybe the tomboyish attitude) Naoto Shirogane even lying next to her when they group went to a hotspring (in the end it was another girl), even though Kanji shows some interest in Naoto, he occasionally faces away from Naoto due to shyness.

Shinjiro is Akihiko’s childhood friend, as well as a Senior in Gekkoukan High School. In battle, Shinjiro relies on his brute strength and wields a heavy axe. His Persona uses physical attacks.

Tough-talking, foul-mouthed Shinjiro was one of the original Persona users who made up SEES, alongside Akihiko and Mitsuru. But during one fateful mission his Persona went out of control and accidentally killed an innocent bystander: Ken’s mother. Shinjiro forced himself away from the group after the incident. He began skipping school and living as an outcast. He also started doing shady deals with Strega in order to get drugs that could help control his Persona.

Shinjiro and Akihiko have stayed in touch over the years, but Shinjiro refuses Akihiko's invitations to rejoin SEES until he learns that Ken has decided to join their group. He is fully aware of Ken's vendetta and is ready to take responsibility for his actions. Though he puts on a brave front, the guilt of having killed an innocent woman eats away at him.

Shinjiro meets Ken at the site where Ken's mother was killed, during one of the full moon missions. He has no intention of resisting to Ken's attempt to extract revenge, but he warns the boy that if he continues, he could end up just like Shinjiro. The two are interrupted by Takaya while Ken struggles to go through with his plan. Takaya takes a shot at Ken and Shinjiro jumps in front of the bullet, ending his own life. This final sacrifice earns Ken's respect and inspires Akihiko's resolve. Later the members of SEES discover that the drugs Shinjiro was taking were slowly killing him.

During his climactic confrontation with Nyx, the Main Character hears Shinjiro's voice cheering him on along with the voices of the living SEES members.

In the FES version, a hidden camera reveals that Shinjiro enjoys cooking shows. Shinjiro also has a love for dogs, especially Koromaru. In The Answer, it is also learned that Shinjiro joined SEES because Akihiko did. He arrived at the dorm and refused to leave soon after Akihiko moved there. Akihiko did not want Shinjiro to join, for he was afraid that he may not be able to control his Persona.

So while they are alike in few ways. They are very different. Shinji isn't a delinquent, he may be foul-mouthed, rude, and stubborn. But he isn't a delinquent.

Shinjiro's a delinquent who is gay for Akihiko. THEY'RE THE FREAKING SAME.
