Couldn't find the original topic anyways is this game worth 20 quid?

EDIT: I went back in time to create this topic before Moose

The demo stank. It looks gorgeous and has a proper world map, but it's ridiculously childish and the combat reeks.

I've played like 5 hours of the game, and it's just okay. I couldn't really get into the story, so I haven't played the game in a while.

This is alright. I had heard it was turn based but it's really not. The story is fucked up though.

And the fairy kept calling him a crybaby too.

Alright, after about 10 hours I can finally catch my own familiars. Adding a second person to your party is basically just a distraction. You can tell them to do stuff but that just screws you over because it's all in real time and time spent telling your partner to do something is time you could use to just attack the enemy yourself.

After a bit of wandering I have my full team of familiars; Sammy I, Lemahl, and Dwayne.

There's a town in this game where you have to wear a swimsuit all the time by law.

Some scummy thief just joined my party. He has a grappling gun, which is cool, but I'd rather just have the gun and leave him behind.

If there's one thing I never expected to see in a JRPG, it's an Only Fools and Horses reference.

After "Tell my wife I said hello", I think those mofos are up in your house just working out what they can reference to screw with you.

This is 3.99 on PSN. Yes, that's right, less than four quid. I'm hugely tempted, even if it means another huge time sink to go into my backlog.

I'm not sure I'd recommend it. After 40 hours all the little problems got too much and nothing was really happening so I stopped playing. The biggest issue is that, as far as I can tell, whenever you capture a familiar they always start at level 1. It's not like pokemon where if you can catch stronger monsters to keep updating your team. They're strong when you're fighting them but if you can catch them they're level 1.

So any familiar you catch is always going to be a lot weaker than the ones you're already using. Switching up teams then becomes incredibly impractical because you have to waste time leveling up the new familiars to the same level as the others. I used pretty much the exact same team the whole time because of that.

Maybe I missed something but that was my experience of it.

Thanks, genuinely appreciate the feedback - almost every one else who plays it seems to gush over it.
