| Well, not all of these are graphic novels, but definitions for that term vary for different people, so whatever.
Batman ones: The Killing Joke The Man Who Laughs Made of Wood Year One Dark Knight Returns Dark Knight Strikes Again The Long Halloween Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth (very good this one)
Also: Superman: Red Son V for Vendetta Watchmen Sin City 1-7
Manga (I consider these graphic novels due to the nature of their publication and writing): MW Ode to Kirihito

| I've read The Killing Joke. That's pretty much it. Batman vs. Joker is fucking epic. | |

| I think the only graphic novel I've ever read was "Boba Fett: Death, Lies, and Treachery". Don't know if that counts, though; it was the compilation of a comic book miniseries by Dark Horse Comics. | |

| But what did that last post mean exactly? You were or weren't expecting people or yourself to mention something or something.
Anyway, I said Sin City.

but he did more then just sin city I know. He did Dark Knight Returns and Dark Knight Strikes Again, which I listed. He also wrote Year One. He's done some other Batman stuff I haven't read, and probably some other stuff I haven't heard of.

Anyone? Would this count as a graphic novel or not?

and TBH i have no clue what he wrote didn't realise he did batman Yeah, he wrote this 3 and did the art for TDKR and TDKSA. He also did a recent run called Astonishing Batman or something that was really hated because he basically turned it into Sin City and had Batman abusing Robin by starving him and making him eat rats and hitting Alfred for trying to give give some proper food and shit like that.

| So, is TDK2 any good? I'm not very motivated to read it due to how much I liked how TDK1 ended and I feel the sequel might ruin it. | |

Anyone? Would this count as a graphic novel or not? Was it written and planned as a single continuity or is just a series of short stories or something? For a me a graphic novel is a story that's written and usually published as a single volume, a one off.

Oh, Strikes Again is hated pretty much across the board. It's like a complete opposite to what Returns was. Big cast of DC heroes, bright colours, worldwide story, some ridiculous sci-fi elements (such as a robotic T-rex). It's not very good.

| It is not hard back. It is lengthy, but not what I'd consider "long". It is a single continuity; some exploits may seem disassociated with the main plot, but they all tie together into a central story involving feuding Hutts and a vengeful space pirate. The story was originally published in a series of 3-5 comic issues (I forget how many) before being released as the complete version that I own. | |

| So Frank abandons the whole, "Bruce is getting old. He can't do this shit anymore." element established in the first one basically. | |

Not really. He's older and bald in the next one. But he doesn't really do anything besides planning everything. Just gets beat up by Lex Luthor (who looks like he fell straigh of of the pages of Sin City, being a fat disgusting pig). The basic plot is about getting all the DC heroes together to fight against the Luthor and Brainiac or something, I can't actually remember. But it's much less of a Batman story and more a of DC group story with all the heroes piling in to do crazy shit all over the place. Pretty much threw the "realism" and grit that made TDKR popular out the window.

| Wow, maybe I shouldn't bother. Like you said, the realism and grittiness is what made me love The Dark Knight Returns. | |
