Superbuu3's Review: UFC Undisputed 3 Empty

UFC Undisputed 3 has come back stronger then ever, with its latest installment. The at times daunting controls now have the option for two different grappling modes amateur and pro, as well as a guided tutorial to introduce the control scheme to players. Hints can even be turned on or off in fights, giving tips in real time for anyone really struggling to get to grips with the control. Overall this will allow newcomers to the series to be able to ease themselves into the series and veterans to get right back into the action.

These additions are very positive to see and show that developers have really put in the time to listen to fans. There have been multiple additions varying from the inclusion of Pride FC, a new submission system, an improved career mode, new moves and leg TKOs. Being able to fight under Pride rules is an interesting addition and surviving the first 10 minute round is intense and fun experience, meaning you will have to adopt different tactics in order to survive. The new submission system feels like a huge improvement, over the stick twirling of previous installments. Players are now shown an on screen display where you have to chase or avoid your opponent around an octagon. This makes you feel more in control of your submission, and allows you to see exactly how well your submission is going.
Career mode now allows you to not only create a fighter but also take an existing fighter and lead them to glory. Getting from fight to fight is faster with number of training sessions minimised, but results maximised all round leading to a career mode focused more on the fights themselves.

The games presentation is still as polished as previous games, the use of real UFC footage during career mode and introductions before ultimate fights allows for a more authentic experience. Character models for UFC fighters appear to be accurate representations of their real life counter parts and character creation is intuitive and allows for maximum customisation with minimal effort, making it possible to make fighters look exactly the way you want them to. The only criticisms I have of the game are the at times repetitive commentary (which is a problem in most games and this isn't the worst offender) and the lack of a save option in the title defence mode.
