I really like it. The tutorial bit with the seige on Dr. Acula's castle was cool, although the lengthy recap of what I assume was Reflector of Destiny's story was clumsy and a bit boring.
The proper opening with old Dr. Acula was nice too, although the blatant allusion rape was very distasteful. Whoever caused a fuss over that certainly isn't an idiot. I was confused how the ending of Dukes of Gloom 1 seemed slightly retconned, but also not, somehow...? Things happened slightly differently but Dr. Acula was flashing back to the other version of events or something. Bit weird.
Also don't like Bozek. Don't trust him. And his dumb looking bodyguard is dumb. Especially since he shows up later to be an annoying-as-fuck AI partner for all of 5 minutes. Someone tell me why developers insist on making AI partners yell "Come on, we need to hurry!" at you every 10 seconds. I also don't want him fighting enemies and getting in my way during combat, because the combat is a lot of fun.
The music is great, especially in Dr. Acula's castle. And thank God for one particular innovation, an option to turn off the QTEs.
