Ok, so last year was a pretty good year for anime. I did not watch Madoka, but I heard it was all right, so I will soon. Here is what I think of the anime of the past year.

WINTER

Skipped this one.

Mitsudomoe OVA - Pretty funny. Sees the start of the "Mitsuba is fat" trend.

SPRING

This is the season where I planned to watch like 10 shows.

Young Animator Training Project - 1 was great, 1 was good, 2 were all right

Moshidora - Boring, uninteresting, dropped after episode 1.

Nichijou - Excellently made, funny, inventive, with great music, characters, voice acting, animation and art. 10/10

Yondemasu-yo, Azazel-san! - Good casting, some hit and miss jokes, all right. 7/10

Hen Zemi - Wonderfully vulgar, great voice acting, good juvenile fun. 8/10

Hana-saku Iroha - Fab designs, a little too sugary and generic for me. Dropped after episode 1.

Sex Education for 30 year old men - Because they said it would be fun. Sadly, all the fun was censored out of it, though some jokes were really funny. Dropped after episode 1.

Hidan no Aria - Gruesome generic piece of crap. Burned after episode 1.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko - Some SHAFT head tilting and all right voice casting. Dropped after episode 1.

Maria Holic Alive - First two eps left wonderful impression, the rest was good, but not very impressive. More screentime for Mariya is always good. OPs and EDs were really good, but the soundtrack was pretty much recycled from the last season. 6/10

A Channel - Awful. I was genuinely angry when one character did not fall out of a window. Dropped before the episode was over.

Ao no Exorcist - First two episodes were really good. Then it did not turn into either moe no exorcist or manly exorcist, and thus, dropped after episode 7.

Lotte no Omocha - Lot of Norse, which is fun for me. Main cast uninteresting, dropped after episode 1.

C - The money of soul and possibility control - Too much CG, had potential, but too badly executed. Dropped after episode 1.

SUMMER

Also known as the best season.

Double-J - Considering it's a 4 minute flash show, it's pretty good. The ED is great, the VAs are good, and some jokes were surprisingly funny. 7/10

the Idolm@ster - With a budget that could sustain the US military for ten years, it did not disappoint. Great music (of course), cute girls, and astonishingly good art and animation. Should be called Sakugam@ster. Some characters did not have enough screen time, and some were exposed to unnecessary drama, but the comedy was fun, and the drama was well executed, and I really liked it. 9/10

Baka to Test to Shokanjuu - Femdom the show. Some attempts at actual character building were nice, but there was not enough focus. Tsundere girl is second best character. 7/10

Mawaru Penguindrum - Best anime of the year. With a ridiculous amount of care put into writing, scene and image composition, some fantastic music, wonderful OPs (hurray for Yakushimaru Etsuko), interesting characters and good voice acting, this moved me several times, and had me involved til the end. The Tatami Galaxy of this year. 10/10

AUTUMN

Persona 4 - Stuck on episode 8. Started really well, but their limited time and budget is showing. Pacing is perhaps a little fast, and I heard that the entire autumn of hijinks is cut away, which makes me sad.

Mirai Nikki - Started all right, with Minene being expertly played. Yuno is also good, but this was not good enough to capture me. Dropped after episode 2.

Pretty damn good year it was.

None. But I think Chu-Bra and Seikon no Qwaser from 2009 were pretty much that, and they have released uncensored DVD rips. Go get them, I suppose. Or just rewatch Bible Black.
