Man of Steel

Sounds like an Iron Man ripoff to me but apparently it's about some other famous superhero. No idea who though because they don't even say his name in the trailer. Lame.



I'm cautiously optimistic.

I've never liked Superman, despite his super-weaving.

Just got back from watching this, bad movie. Ask me why.

Why?

I heard it had good fight scenes at least.

Because the movie has bad pacing, it has the most awkward scene transitions, most of the characters suck, Jor-El is giant plot device and deus ex machina, Lois Lane is annoying and useless, and the resolution to the end fight fucking pissed me off.

I liked the scenes with Pa Kent and the last fight was cool, but god damn this movie was bad.

First half or so of this movie is a snore fest.... then when the fighting goes dwn it gets good.

and baal he couldn't move zod there.. he was trying to pull him away but zod wasn't budging.
so he did what he had to do.

That is a stupid fucking excuse. Move his head up or toss him into the sky and beat him up some more. There is a very easy and correct solution for that problem and it was not...

If a fucking better writer were handling this movie they'd have had Zod get punched into the Phantom Zone like of his little shit cronies.

I agree its not how the scene should have been handled... supes could have slamed his head into the ground or liftedd his head into the air. He could have even used his own heat vision to make zod a lobotomized zombie..... but i think they just put it in for shock value.

still he did do something similar in the comics so it has happened....even if it got retcond.

This movie was FUCKING MISERABLE. Absolutely inexcusable joyless trash. One-dimensional characters, every piece of dialogue forces the themes down your throat, poor editing, Jonathan Kent is an awful douchebag.

Also Superman DESTROYED AN ENTIRE FUCKING CITY!!!! Seriously, the most important aspects of Superman is that he doesn't kill and cares deeply about human life. But David Fucking Gopher an Christoper Dark N' Gritty thought it was too old-fashioned and we need a REALISTIC Superman, so now we get some murderer who destroys an entire city and then makes out with his girlfriend in the ruins where tens of thousands of bodies are now stockpiled.

God, fuck this movie.

Also I remember the beautiful opening page of All-Star Superman where his backstory was explained in three panels. SO LET'S WASTE 20 FUCKING MINUTES ON SOME GARBAGE ASS PLANET TALKING ABOUT POINTLESS FILLER SCENES SO EXCITING.

This movie broke the heart of one of the greatest Superman writers of all time. I can see why. Marvel mocked DC over a decade ago with the fact that they had no idea what to do with the character. Now the finally found a hook: a murderous scumbag.

Also Superman is 33 years old and his dad sends him to save humanity and his other dad teaches him good values and I wonder what this is symboliFFFFFUUUUUUUUCK

They deify him as fucking jesus throughout the whole movie, it's so stupid.

Jesus: Should I just let all these fucking people die for their sins?????

Pa Kent's death scene was so stupid, I laughed. I was the only person laughing in the theater.

They tried to Uncle Ben him except he is the completeopposite of Uncle Ben. It makes sense why Superman is such a miserable person in this movie.

He deserved that tornado.

I guess I'll be the odd one out and say that I really enjoyed this.

Why did Supes have a receding hairline?

It was alright. Best film featuring Superman since the original Reeve film.
