Ninja Assassin

Watched this last night. Fun film. The basic plot is that there's these ancient ninja clans that take in orphans and train them to be ninja assassins. They've been doing it for 1000 years, and in the modern world they supply assassins to governments and stuff for political killings.

The first part of the movie is about this woman who begins investigating the assassin clans and stuff, and also about a ninja called Raizo. He's part of a clan but he ran away because of the usual stuff and now he's out for revenge against them and they're out for revenge against him. Eventually they meet up and go about trying to bring down the ninja clan.

As you might be able to tell from my avatar, it's a movie with plenty of outlandish CG blood flying all over the place.

i find the name fairly redundant

But he's not just a ninja, he's a ninja assassin.

I saw the title and thought: "Oh great, another pointless action movie without any story."

But I'm going to trust your judgement and rent it.

The film has more story than it needs, especially on the agent's side of things.

I'm just doing my job, protecting the public from nasty things like video games that involve anything other than Hello Kitty.

Anyway, I saw an hour and a quart of the movie last night, and it was all right. Didn't like Raizo, though. He reminded me too much of Ninomiya Kazunari and Matsumoto Jun.

I hated the female role in this movie.

Everything else was cash though.
