Yeah that was hard to control at first, but I got used to it.

Controlling it was alright, it was just getting to the destination. The fires seem to go way around the houses, and half the time I ended up going round in circles or heading back the way I came.

stick to the left side fires and it should take you directly there.

Anyone planning to get the DLC? I'm not sure about it, seems like shameless money-grubbing on Ubisoft's part.

I did that eventually, but I ended up coming into the square from the side, and from that angle the fire just takes you up and straight into the bell tower. I had to change direction on the last couple of fires.

Altair's armour is bullshit. Why the fuck does make your entire outfit black?

Because it's cool like that, you can always try and dye it a different colour. Not sure it'll work because I didn't bother, but give it a shot.

It can't be dyed. I know the head assassin where's black or whatever, but I thought this was supposed to be his armour, not his whole damn outfit.

Ah yeah, thought so. Yeah I didn't think much of it because I thought it looked more badass than the outfit you have before, but yeah, you only see the armour behind the cage, not the whole outfit...

It would be better if it actually looked like something Altair would wear. But it looks like it was designed with Ezio and his time period in mind.

God damn this game just goes on and on and on. I'm getting a bit tired of it. It feels like things should be heating up by now, but it doesn't feel like the story is building towards anything. I'm just killing people and I'm not even sure why anymore. I've been playing for 23 hours, so the game tells me, and nothing important has happened for the last 20 of those, or at least it feels that way.

I'm just not interested in Ezio and at all for some reason. Seems like a bit of a cocky twat really.

Oh, and you can't actually reach 100% synchronisation unless you have the content from the LE. So basically it's an incomplete game.

Decided to check out this Uplay thing, and thank God I did, because I got an Altair skin. The game is much cooler now.

Well, I must admit, I really quite liked the ending. The last few sequences leading up to it got increasingly boring since you just fight the same guy over and over, but the ending scenes themselves I liked, along with all the information in the glyphs and Truth video.

Spoiler:

And this is why these games piss me off. The story of what's going on in the future is far more fucking interesting than the story you spend the whole damn game going through. I don't give two shits about Ezio's story. His story in itself does absolutely nothing to advance Desmond's story. We don't find anything out through Ezio's life that Altair didn't already show us, apart from the very end of the game.

All Ezio is is some bullshit excuse to drag out about 30 minutes of exposition and information into a whole damn game. The first game gets a free pass because it's establishing everything. We're learning about the templars and the assassins and what they want, etc. We go back to ABSTERGO often enough to get their side of things. We learn about the Pieces of Eden, what they're capable of, why ABSTERGO/the Templars want them, and so on.

In this game, we learn the origin of the Pieces, as well as some other pretty cool stuff. But ONLY through clues left behind by the last subject in the Animus and in the final scenes of the game. Everything else is filler.

Finding the glyphs and getting the clues and reading some of that info and compiling the video was very nice though. I loved doing all that.

It's good. The additions are nearly all to do with the beefed up content and mission structure. The gameplay is unchanged for the most part, although you get a few tools to spice things up if you want, like smoke bombs. There are more weapons, but the only new ones you can carry with you are the maces. Axes and spears have to be taken from the guards and you can't keep them. Climbing is a bit faster, and you do get a new leap move which you need to climb certain buildings.

It's a long game given it's genre too. I clocked 27 hours from start to finish, and only a few of them would have been spent on the side quests. Although that is kind of a problem too, since the story, for me, was nowhere near interesting enough to keep me interested for that long.

Overall though, if I had to return either AC1 or AC2, I think it'd be AC2. You actually felt like an assassin in the first one. There was less of a feeling of being completely invincible (this game manages to be even easier than the first). Altair is just cooler than Ezio. One blade was cooler than two. The story was more interesting throughout rather than just in one or two key places.

AC2 improved on the monotonous missions (which honestly never bothered me in the first game) and lack of content, but to me it ended up being less satisfying in all other areas. Apart from the aforementioned key story sequences, which were few and far between. I hope the next game spends way more time on the future scenes than this one did.

Still a good game, just feels a bit over-stuffed. They obviously listened to everyone's complaints about the first game though, but they've over-compensated with this game in my opinion.

2. But read up on the story from 1 because 2 does a piss poor job of explaining it in the very brief intro.

It's a cash-in that continues Ezio's story for full price.

I'm doing all the extra missions now, and I will admit, standing above two people on the edge of a building, then leaping off and killing them both is pretty cool. I still wish you could unequip the second blade somehow though. The counter attack animations for the single blade are so much better than the double blade ones, and I see them a lot since the hidden blade is pretty much all I use in combat.

that seems really weird that you don't have that option seeing as you used it earlier in the game
